I had a disappointing experience at this cafe due to an inappropriate comment made by one of the bartenders regarding allergies. When I initially ordered my almond mocha, there was a miscommunication with the cashier due to language barriers, resulting in a regular coffee with full milk. However, when I brought this to their attention, the bartender who prepared my coffee made a comment about allergies being "make believes" and laughed.
Here is his full comment while I stand there feeling absolutely offended but didnt say anything because I dont usually do well in an argument: “Ahhh all these allergies, they just popped up nowadays mate. You know all these allergies are make believes, it’s just on your mind”.
As someone who is lactose intolerant, this comment was not only hurtful but also disrespectful towards people with genuine allergies.
I must commend the lady who seemed to be in a leadership role for handling the situation professionally. She quickly stepped in, apologised for the mix-up, and promptly made a new almond mocha for me. I appreciate her understanding and willingness to accommodate my dietary needs.
However, it's essential for the cafe to address the inappropriate remarks made by the bartender. Allergies are a serious matter, and such comments are not acceptable in any setting. I hope the cafe takes appropriate steps to educate their staff about the importance of sensitivity and respect towards customers'...
Read moreI'm going low on this place, I'm a local and have been there a few times all of which have been a bad experience, I tried. Ok, it's a great location but it's wasted on these proprietor who churns and burns.
Firstly, anywhere that is "cash only" in a prime location is dodgy, inconvenient and rude in an a digital economy that thrives on Efpos. This is especially annoying when you go there for a swim and only want to carry a card and are told there is a cash machine across the road.
Second, the coffee is average at best, really average. Milk scalding is unforgivable from a barista. It was weak and bitter. This place is surrounded by quality coffee, how does it survive? Location.
Thirdly, the food. Again average at best. Four, the price. Not consistent and poor quality, more like a dodgy greasy spooner.
Five service, just ok, a PA system barking out distorted ticket orders is disgraceful and cuts the peaceful seaside Vive like a chainsaw. I was Really shocked the council allows this noise pollution. Such arrogance is only outstripped by the "cash only" tax dodge.
As you can tell by my reviews, I never write bad reviews unless the establishment annoys me with bad service, rudeness and terrible food or beverage. This place ticks all those boxes. In short, AVOID !!! Walk up on the strip or walk down the promenade and get a real coffee, meal with better service devoid of...
Read moreI ordered for my group which cost me more than 100aud. Coffee tastes so-so. Meals were good at this time compared to our past visits. I asked for a warm water in a glass. The male barista (around 50s perhaps) gave me one tiny cup of hot water. The second time I asked for warm water again but the barista came back “THIS IS THE LAST TIME, YOU CANNOT KEEP ASKING FOR HOT WATER BECAUSE I’M NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS.” He then suggested me to buy a COLD water from the fridge if I want to drink water. That’s dumb because there’s no hot nor warm water from the fridge, it can only come from the coffee machine dispenser. I told him “NEVER MIND” and then I just turned around feeling HUMILIATED AROUND OTHER PEOPLE who heard it. I was just asking for warm cup of water during this cold weather. He could have said no instead saying hurtful words and some dumb suggestion. I am giving this ONE STAR for that male barista or if he’s the owner, he is SOO GOOD AT HUMILIATINNG A CUSTOMER. If I could only puke out all the food that I ate here I would have done that for a tiny glass of warm or hot water, which I needed most because I did not like the taste of coffee at all.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ANYMORE. I LEFT UNHAPPY
It could have been the...
