I recently had the misfortune of dining at brown chicken, and I must say, it was an utterly abysmal experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a foul odor that can only be described as a mixture of stale grease and neglect. The floors were sticky, and the tables looked like they hadn't been wiped down in weeks.
As for the food, where do I even begin? The fried chicken was a soggy, greasy mess, completely devoid of any crispiness or flavor. The batter was thick and undercooked, making it a chewy, unpleasant ordeal. To make matters worse, the chicken itself was dry and bland, as if it had been sitting out for hours before being served.
The side dishes were equally disappointing. The coleslaw tasted sour and off, and the pickled radishes were mushy and lifeless. Even the sauces, which I had hoped would at least provide some semblance of flavor, were watery and insipid.
Service was another disaster. The staff were inattentive and seemed more interested in their phones than in serving customers. I had to wait an eternity just to get my order taken, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold.
To top it all off, the prices were exorbitant for the low-quality food and abysmal service. I left feeling not only unsatisfied but also ripped off.
In conclusion, brown chicken is a complete and utter disgrace to the concept of Korean fried chicken. Save yourself the disappointment and go...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times - found that it’s better than the other Korean fried chicken offerings in West Ryde. Chicken was super crunchy, juicy and tasty but yet without a heavy batter.
Rose tteokbokki was great too - think of Mac and cheese but using rice cakes. The rice cakes are thinner and softer. Love the sausages. Fish cake was normal as per everywhere.
The chicken however during our most recent visit yesterday wasn’t as great due to the smell and taste of burnt oil. Was still crunchy, juicy and all that but isn’t great when you taste burnt oil every bite.

The batter was inconsistently applied and texture was dry. The chicken was also very dry, and overcooked. The vegetable oil didn’t taste fresh at all, and the flour mix used in the batter has the wrong consistency making the batter have a broken down biscuity. I’m how fresh the chicken was. I had a very leathery exterior as if it’s been kept in a container in the fridge for some time before cooked to serve. Found it difficult to finish, had to take away. Didn’t taste nice after reheating.
The...
