Breakpoint cafe (Parking available on Graf ave) — Restaurant in Sydney

was really hoping for a good local ramen place, but the tonkotsu ramen here is the worst i’ve ever had in my life. it’s a sin to put that on the menu and expect people to pay for it.

the “6 hour broth” tasted like they’d boiled fat for six hours. it didn’t have the lightness of a good light ramen, nor the depth of a heavy ramen. instead it was like fatty water, that tasted slightly fishy. the noodles felt like instant noodles instead of ramen noodles and both my partner and I felt sick after eating it. i usually finish my food, but after two spoons i gave up (on an empty stomach) - please take this off the menu, it’s a violation of taste buds.

fwiw my neighbour actually recommended me this place saying the ramen was good (when they first opened). after asking him about it (after eating it) he said that the last time he went it tasted pretty awful and he couldn’t finish it bcos it tasted too fatty.

TLDR you’re paying $20 for flavourless fatty water and instant noodles to feel sick afterwards.

This café has a very unassuming street presence, as the most used entrance is from the back alley, but it’s definitely worth seeking out. The interior layout is a little quirky, with a succession of narrow rooms, but this tends to add to the charm. Remember to take a picture with their angel wings while you’re there! For those after a quick evening drink with dessert, they are open till 9 PM some nights, and offer a great range of bingsu and hot and cold drinks. But the savory foods and bakery items available throughout the day would definitely make this worth a visit at other times too. I have to make note of the fact that most of my visits have been in the evening, sometimes within half an hour of closing time, and the staff have always been very welcoming and accommodating, even when I have brought a large group of more than five people. This isn’t always the response you get from other restaurants and cafés when they are approaching...

Been there twice, and love there bingsu, they have charging ports available the cafe is very cute with books available to read there , the bingsu tastes amazing one bite made me want to eat more!!! The staff are amazing too!! You can put your phone number down and become a regular customer who knows maybe u will get discounts!! The staff are very helpful and friendly they make sure the food is presented nicely , we had ordered the Milo bingsu which is a limited addition I think? It was great and loved every time I go there and they had hand sanitizer and water on a small table with napkins and some sauce packets there such...
