The quality dropped but the price didnât??? Today, 05/03/2025 around 5 PM, I went to the C9 in Crows Nest â a place I used to go to all the time. There were some people sitting at the tables, but ABSOLUTELY NO ONE in line â just me. A guy saw me waiting, looked right at me, and instead of taking my order, he called an Asian woman who was clearly busy preparing something else. She glanced at me, then went straight back to what she was doing. Meanwhile, the guy sat down and started scrolling on his phone instead of helping.
I waited EIGHT MINUTES in line, alone, just to place my order.
When I finally got to order, I asked for the usual: Pink Lady Fondue with banana instead of marshmallow. When it was ready, I was shocked. The chocolate â which used to come in a decent round pot â came in a ridiculous tiny tiny cup, barely enough for anything, and it was only HALF FULL. And worst of all: THE WORST CHOCOLATE IâVE EVER TASTED. No flavor, almost plasticky. Totally different from the rich milk chocolate they used to serve.
The strawberries were tiny and tasteless. Same with the banana â barely any pieces. Everything was just bad: the chocolate, the fruit, the portions.
I literally threw money in the trash. The quality has dropped massively, the service was awful, and the tables were filthy.
Iâm never coming back. You just lost a customer. Do yourself a favor and go to the ice cream shop upstreet instead...

However, perhaps its time the owner knew how customers are served at times. There was no one in the shop or at the counter for approx 4 mins and no apology for keeping us waiting. We ordered our 2 small coffees ($13.90)- no soy, skim... nothing special. We ordered our coffees and went to sit out in the sun. About 8 mins later I came in to see if they were ready and he said "they're on the counter". He was on his phone the whole time and I said, "you can said something buddy"...his response was "thankyou", head still buried in his phone. At the very least, given there were zero customers, he could have stuck his head out the door and said, "your coffees are ready"... but nothing. You're paying this guy to leave the shop entirely unattended, be totally unwelcoming, play games on his phone and not give a toss as to whether we got our coffees or not. For desserts I would say this is well below average place. A waffle from woolworths or coles is much better than what they serve.
The girls serving arenât really friendly either and donât seem to be happy either having you there.
The only reason I have been here thrice is that itâs approximately 400metres of a walk from my place and even though itâs close I donât think I would be returning to this shop.
If you pay by card there is a surcharge of 1.3% written over on their eftpos machine but I have been charged a surcharge of between 10 and 15% (different on each visit) for paying by card. I did visit by myself so probably it just cost me an extra $1.5 to $2.5 on my each visit but if one is visiting with friends or family then one should look out for the surcharge amount.
On my last visit yesterday I ordered single fortune which was supposed to be $15 but I ended up paying $17.22 which is approx 14.8% surcharge so not sure how this works in terms of...
