Rochfort Gallery — Attraction in Sydney

This historical building and long term Northshore Art Gallery has a new owner now.

All Fresh Exhibition from 25 renown Chinese Artists started its grand opening 1st of March 2024. The atmosphere is warm and exciting, full of enthusiastic artists, collectors and art lovers. 1/3 of the exhibition works were sold already.

The Gallery also represents 30+ Australian Artists. Look forward to some fantastic exhibitions in the coming months. The next is one of my favourite artist @Phil Stallard (third picture with Gallery owner Maggie Wu). Later on there will be exhibition from @Jia Wei Shen (沈嘉蔚) - He is a winner of the 2006 Sir John Sulman Prize.

Rochfort is an exciting Gallery to showcase great contemporary art works. Maggie Wu's personal collection is impressive including Charles Blackman, Arthur Boyd, Noman Lindsay, etc.

Visiting this gallery was an unforgettable experience. The artistic design of the space is simply stunning — every detail is thoughtfully curated to create a harmonious and immersive atmosphere. The Buddha statues on display are incredibly powerful and awe-inspiring, evoking a deep sense of reverence and reflection.

I also had the opportunity to participate in the Zen tea ceremony and meditation activities, which were beautifully conducted. These experiences added a profound sense of peace and mindfulness to my visit, making it not just a gallery, but a sanctuary for the soul.

The long-awaited personal retrospective of Mitsuo Shoji has finally begun!🥰 It's truly amazing! His ceramic works and paintings are incredibly exquisite, and you can really see his attention to detail and mastery of materials in every piece. The whole exhibition has a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, allowing me to take my time to appreciate each piece. I especially love how he uses different forms and colors to convey his reflections on life and nature. His works feel powerful yet gentle.
