My fiancé and I have recently moved to the area we dined at Xenos Saturday night. Pros: When we walked past and checked out the menu the servers acknowledged us and said hi. The Asian gentleman that sat us down was lovely and had amazing customer service we sat at a 2seater by the wall and he did a simple act of adding a table on to make us comfortable. He took our order promptly and we received our Linguine prawns, salt & pepper squid garlic bread and bottle of wine in a timely fashion. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and he was very polite. I wasn't too impressed with the prawn dish but the rest was great. Our server finished his shift and he was replaced by a young lady that is when the service changed considerably. She never came over to check on the table we had to keep looking back to get her attention because we wanted to order desert. We even noticed the manager on duty had to tell her to check on her table because he noticed we had kept looking back. She finally came over and asked if we'd like to see a desert menu and we said we'd love desert then it took her 10 mins to come back with a menu, then took her another 5 to come back and take our order even when we quickly decided and put our menus down. I was eagerly anticipating the Tiramisu and I was highly disappointed it was very soggy and we were not impressed at all. I thought the desert to be over-priced and even from this fact I could not finish it. It just did not taste nice. It was simply not good. We understand it was the end of the night and the server just wanted to get home but the inconsistency in Xenos customer service is where they failed the most. We quickly paid the bill and my fiancé even tipped because it was custom in her culture to do so though our server was highly impolite and it just showed she wanted to go home. The manager and the gentleman at the bar said goodnight and thanked us. All in all it was ok but we won't be coming back in a hurry and we've experienced better service and good quality food from the surrounding restaurants...
Read moreI used to love this place but we just went back after many years and it's really gone downhill. I have food sensitivities and the menu didn't mention garlic in any dishes and luckily I asked and was told that everything on the menu has garlic except for the steak. So I ordered the fillet mignon with green beans and roasted potatoes. What I got was fillet mignon with mushrooms, broccolini and limp potatoes. I asked what was up with the different meal and was told I was wrong, I then showed them the actual menu and they said "oh it changed". They should re-print it then! I can't have mushrooms or broccolini and never would've ordered it if it said that. I managed to get some plain carrots instead, and the fillet mignon was almost inedibly chewy. It was an utter waste of $52. Plus the service was very slow and I needed to ask 2 different people just to get a refill on our water. My dining companions had no issues with their meal but at $120 for 3 people, I was...
Read moreFood was good and ambience was nice enough, but we left with a very poor taste in our mouth after the bill arrived. Our son ordered the kids schnitzel, and we asked for some plain pasta to replace the fries (he’s the only kid alive that doesn’t like fries!). The waitress said that it shouldn't be an issue.
Just as the schnitzel was being placed on the table, the waitress told my wife that in fact there would be a surcharge for the pasta and my wife didn’t want to cause a fuss so agreed with an eye roll. This was off putting, but we assumed it would only be a few bucks. When the bill arrived, we were charged $8 for some plain penne in a small bowl, which is half the cost of the kids schnitzel itself. Overall the food is a little pricey, but given we had ordered some of the more expensive items on the menu already… it seems the manager is more interested in squeezing out every last dollar than having guests leave with such a bad taste in...
