Chill Restaurant in Crow’s Nest is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant I’ve tried on the North side. I ordered the crispy skin chicken with tomato rice and let me say this is one of the best dishes I’ve had at a Vietnamese restaurant in Sydney. The chicken was very juicy, tender and the skin cooked to crunchy perfection. The salad was very fresh and the sweet fish sauce was the perfect addition to the whole dish. The sauce also had red chilli in it which I loved and added a nice kick to everything. Highly recommend getting the tomato rice with this (only $1 extra) as it added an extra level of flavour profile compared to the regular rice. Chill also has plenty of gluten free choices as with most Vietnamese restaurants. My partner ordered the vermicelli with grilled lemongrass beef (pic 2). Even though the menu didn’t say it was gluten free we asked and they said it can be made gluten free. The dish was absolutely delicious as well and my partner who is coeliac felt completely fine afterwards. This is our new go to spot for Vietnamese food in the North Shore.

I went here for both lunch and dinner (on separate occasions), and both experiences were good. The food was great, the service was decent. It took a little bit longer than normal for service, but maybe that is because it was really busy at the time. The decor of the place was really nice, and I highly recommend coming here. We tried: - chill fried rice - actually really nice; good flavours and really good servings. I would definitely recommend - beef pho - quite refreshing and good quality meat too. The noodles were a good texture and the soup was tasty - clay pot salmon - really interesting flavours. Unique and quite nice but I feel like it would be a hit or miss. There is a lot of salmon, so it’s definitely worth it! - vermicelli salad with lemongrass chicken - I really loved this. It was fresh and had great flavours - the duck curry - pretty tasty but not really my favourite dish Highly highly recommend coming here! The food is good, the atmosphere is good, and the staff are good!

Arrived for lunch on weekend, the restaurant is quite full inside but luckily we had a last small table. There is also more seat on the street. The restaurant is busy but staff is organised. The staff serves water, set table and takes orders at the table. The fried silky tofu is quite nice. Salted egg yolk sauce is not very strong but still adds some interesting twist to fried tofu, maybe the chilli mayo options can be better. Chow mien is nice and the portion of noodle and meat is decent. The noodles are not seasoned a lot and it allows you to adjust accordingly with the fish sauce to your own preference. The lemongrass pork belly is savoury and satisfying. Pho has a clear broth with rather natural sweetness, not that thirsty after finishing. Be mindful with the chopped chilli on the side, it can be quite spicy. The fish sauce for crispy chicken is different, probably with vinegar inside, which is quite attention to detail.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Chill for the past two years and can confidently say that it is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Despite trying other Vietnamese eateries nearby, none have matched the level of authenticity and quality of Chill's dishes.

To those who have made negative comments about Chill's food being Westernized or overpriced, I must respectfully disagree. As someone who is 100% born and raised in Vietnam, and whose family runs a food vendor, I can attest that Chill's food is as authentically Vietnamese as it can get. The restaurant's excellent plating only serves to enhance the appearance of their dishes, which still retain their authentic taste, instead of making it "Westernised".

As someone who used to work as a cook, I always take a peek at the kitchen whenever I dine out, and Chill's kitchen is truly impressive. Unlike some dishes in which you can use cheap and non-fresh ingredients and cover that up with lots of spices and sauces, Vietnamese dishes only uses fresh ingredients and Chill's cooks use only the freshest ingredients, which is crucial to the authenticity of Vietnamese cuisine. Despite the high quality of their ingredients, the prices at Chill are very reasonable ( even cheap for some dishes)

In addition to their fantastic food, Chill also offers impeccable service. From the moment you step through the door, their friendly and attentive staff make you feel right at home. Overall, Chill is the perfect spot for anyone craving delicious and authentic Vietnamese cuisine served with a...

Chilli, I'm so gutted. I do feel terrible for such a low rating/review of your business on google reviews. Public please understand this review of mine is in NO attempt to stop anyone from dinning here at this establishment. Personally I will be back. Rice paper rolls: 10 out of 10, execution, quality and quantity, simple & great! Who was on the grill tonight? Quality control absolutely failure. Who prepared that meat earlier? Two culprits at fault here Id assume. I ordered a dried egg noodle with pork belly at the added cost of $3. $26 for a meal, reasonable. Unfortunately that was hardly pork belly, absolutely no fat on that meat. Was that because the knife skills of the person who prepared it earlier arent up to par or is it a possible supplier issue? Either way unexpectable. The pork was then completely over cooked to the point it was burnt really burnt, hard, dry chewy and burnt - without the fat, well there isn't the flavour nir does it need to be cooked for very long. I did in fact take photos as it's beyond me how anyone would allow that to be served to me tonight. A mistake that definitely should not have been seen or sold to customers. As I can see from the photos posted by others this isn't a consistent issue & I'm very upset I didn't get the pork belly I've seen others enjoying. I will certainly give you guys another go one day & I'm so excited to try your food made with love. Honestly menu had a fair few items that caught my eye 👁 ❤️ I cant seem to post my photos but if need be I'm absolutely happy to share with...

Before I started eating, since we didn’t have a reservation, a male staff member told us we could dine but needed to leave before 7:30. We agreed. By 7:00, we were almost done eating. Thinking we could pay first and then finish quickly, I went to settle the bill. After paying, I returned to my seat to finish the rest of my pho.

Then, a female staff member came over and asked, “Are you done eating? The next table is here, and we need to clear this one.”

I replied, “The male staff told us we just need to leave before 7:30. I’ll be done in about four more minutes.” (It was only 7:06 at this point.)

She responded, “Of course, that’s fine,” but then gave me a sour look and kept glancing elsewhere. Even though she said it was okay, she repeatedly mentioned that the next table had arrived, adding that the male staff member might have missed a 7:00 reservation.

I had already explained that I just needed 4 more minutes—barely 2min, really, I just need finishing some soup. Yet, the female staff member kept hovering and making comments, which was incredibly annoying. It felt like they were rushing me out, leaving me with a terrible impression. Such...
