We visited this evening due to kids requesting some ice cream after dinner. Initially I ordered 3 scoops with 3 different flavours and the staff scooped the 3 scoops of ice cream IN FRONT of me. I asked for a spare small empty cup and it was kindly granted. A few minutes later, I order 3 more scoops, this time 2 scoops of chocolate and 1 scoop of green tea. I expected they would be prepared in front of me. In stead I saw the staff took 2 small cups of chocolates out from the freezer behind the counter (obviously prepared earlier with spoon in it, and not sold for whatever reason). When the staff turned around to face me, I said I wanted the green tea flavour to be at the bottom and she thought my request was ridiculous. I then asked to have the green tea flavour in a separate cup but was told it would be charged at $5.50 instead of $9 for 3 scoops. I argued that if you prepared in front of me, I would have given instruction to please put green tea first, then 2 chocolate on top. It's a simple request and I don't know why a fuss and I have not even complained you gave me "2nd hand" serve of ice cream from the freezer already in the cup with a spoon, I meant if you don't see it's a problem, why wouldn't you pour it back to the original container for re-sale in the first place?
Eventually the staff grabbed a new cup and put green tea first, but she poured the 2 scoops of chocolate from the other cup to make it one cup, and then threw away the cup that was initially filled with the chocolate, what a waste of cup! As I paid for the 3 scoops I asked for a spare empty small cup just like 5-10min ago, the other staff said that would incur a 50c charge and I questioned why it was ok in the first place and they said they should not have done that, it was wrong! Fine, it was wrong to give me the spare cup in the first place, but I think it was more wrong you unnecessarily threw away cups and re-sale '2nd hand' serves. It's a bit like restaurants could re-heat/microwave a dish that had been cooked earlier but somehow turned back to the kitchen and presented as freshly made for the next customer?
The reason why I need the green tea to be at the bottom is because my eldest boy with special need will only need eat chocolate flavour and if you put green tea on top, he won't even have one bite.
Based on the service and quality, I would not recommend anyone for your food. I will look up if food safety authority should be notified for this kind of practice of '2nd...
Read moreI recently visited C9 Chocolate and Gelato and I was not impressed.
I ordered a Two Can Tango and asked for the vegan option. Without smiling or saying a word, the worker simply gestured the vegan ice creams available. In hindsight, he was not willing to understand our order and diet requirements at all.
When we received our order, the presentation was poor but most of all the ice cream was melted. I asked him again if it was 100% vegan to which he said he wasn't sure and that he would check. He came back to me and told me that the cookies and milk chocolate was not vegan and that the brownies "should" be vegan. It concerns me how little he knew about the products he was serving to his customers. I told him how misleading it was to write that there was a vegan option available on the menu to which he said nothing. After a while he apologised under his breath. I was disappointed as I assume we were expected to take off the cookies and brownies and eat the ice cream. We essentially paid 16 dollars for 3 melted scoops of ice cream.
I am especially worried for other people who have nut allergies being served nut based desserts or lactose intolerant people being served dairy. I don't think the staff at Macquarie Centre C9 have satisfactory knowledge in food safety or uphold a high standard for customer service.
I am deeply disappointed in everything related to...
