This cafe hidden in a quiet corner near Leura is an absolute gem!
The ambience is very warm and inviting and earthy with wooden decor scattered about the spacious area. There are many different beautiful artworks and paintings around the space which are tastefully positioned and offer a nice pop of colour to the mostly wooden and metal rustic aesthetic.
The menu is separated by breakfast and lunch. The lunch menu is short and limited but still packs quite a variety of different things to choose from so there's definitely something for everyone's taste.
The hot chips were fresh and delicious and perfectly seasoned with interesting spices. The Grilled Vegetable Plate was a fresh and tasty combination of refreshing greens and grilled pumpkin and other vegetables. The guacamole was flavourful and fresh and the crunch from the nuts was a nice addition.
The skewers were so delicious! My companions had the chicken and beef skewers and they were so delicious and fresh and well seasoned with the perfect texture and a delightful char. The floured tortilla on the bottom was the perfect accompaniment to the skewer. They loved the skewers so much there ordered them again! They also have a tofu skewer for the vegetarians out there which I will try next time.
The serving sizes are quite generous and large for very decent prices.
The drinks were delicious. The hot chocolate was yummy and perfectly sweet. The lychee drink was refreshing and looked like a piece of art with the multicoloured gradient.
The service goes above and beyond to help you. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. They provide table service which is a nice touch.
Overall we were extremely satisfied and impressed with this place and can't wait to come back for...
Read moreThis was a pleasant surprise find for us as we were doing our walks around the Blue Mountains.
It is a good execution of comforting Filipino dishes and Aussie cafe usuals.
We ordered the Dau Beef Tapa and Pork Sisig with our usual coffee. They execute their silog (rice with egg bowls) with a skewer and we love the blend of flavours and the texture of the meat. It felt pork at first because of how I’m used to pork barbecue but we get to appreciate this way of cooking. The meat is bite-tender and its flavour is good as it is but if you want some dips to it, it is paired with side dips to further enhance the flavour.
We miss sisig and this cafe sure did satisfy our craving for it. Served in a skillet, cooked crisped, the dish really brought the best of that pork. It was juicy, and smoky seasoned just right. If you’re used to Asian cooking, you might want to increase a bit of flavour by adding some condiment of your liking. Hopefully, they’ll use a little fatty portion for the pork so it does get too greasy.
For both dishes, the fried rice was the perfect complement as it does not overpower the main dish too much. It completes those little bit of “holes” of saltiness and umami in the dish which completes the experience in your mouth.
We’ll definitely go back when we find our way back again on the Blue Mountains for some walks.
If you’re a tourist, the hop-on/hop-off bus stop is just across this cafe.
Around this cafe, there is a good gallery around 5-10 minute walk along the main road. And a bit steep of a walk towards the lookout so best to do the walks then drop by this cafe to...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place in Katoomba to serve some Asian Filipino Cuisine, then you must visit this new shop in the mountains called Lurline Cafe!
We came in today as walked in customers as booking is not necessary and we were greeted and assisted by staffs right away. The shop is busy when we came in but they have good set up for the restaurant as you see a Show Kitchen, Pastry products and coffees available for purchased.
We seated outside as recommended for fresh air as has good weather then we ordered Chicken Skewers and Sisig.
To our surprise, they elevated the regular chicken skewer to something very appetising to eat and look at the picture attached. Very tasty and can get wrong having a wrap on side to eat with the chicken skewers.
We had the Sisig was taste but maybe the sizzling pot was too hot the egg became dry easily but was good thu.
We were offered to try there coffee too and very tasty. We paid and have out leftovers bring home as we are very full.
They have several dishes in the menu which i havent taken the phot but I uploaded in our tiktok yourhot_hotelier for some details.
