Ordered Brekky burger and Bacon Egg burger with Protein Smoothie

After we seated ourselves, a menu was provided on the table, after about 5 minutes, a lady came around to check if we're ready to order

Earlier even though we didn't come in straight away, the lady at the counter still calmly smiled at us. This is how service should be

The food promptly was made and served to us

The bun was soft with sesame seeds and the burgers were flavoursome, filled with toppings inside even though no extras were requested

Service during and after was good

Small table seating area to cover 2-4 people a table, otherwise can be joined to allow more for bigger groups and there's outdoor seating too

Simple menu options is good, so as for the owners and chef to focus on what they do

Would I go back? Yes

The food and coffee is good, however, the owner is incredibly abusive to his staff. The turnover of staff makes this very apparent. Previous reviews also point this out. I have worked in the hospitality industry for more than 10 years and have opened and managed various cafes myself. I have seen this from many managers that abuse and treat international students (generally) like trash because there is no punishment for abusing and rolling through staff. This is another unfortunate example. I support local business completely but it is incredibly uncomfortable and disappointing to hear the owner talking loudly and openly about his staff in a truly horrible way. There is no excuse for how he treats them. Real thought needs to be put in to whether they should continue to operate a business they clearly can not handle...

I've been to Cafe Door several times for coffee, but I've rarely been satisfied with my experience. On one occasion, I ordered a hot long black, but the staff made me an iced one instead. After I pointed out the mistake, they made a hot one for me and even asked if I wanted some cold water added to it. I appreciated their effort, but when I went to pay, I was charged an extra $1.5 for what they called "extra service."

On another visit, I ordered an iced latte, but the staff added the sugar at the very end, which meant that it didn't dissolve properly and I ended up with chunks of sugar in my mouth. Overall, I'm disappointed with Cafe Door's inconsistent service and attention to detail, and I don't think I'll be returning...
