Cappapinos cafe , located at 135 Macquiare street Sydney 2000) was the place I embarked on a 14-hrs trip back and forth from Perth to Sydney to renew my passport and the other document at the Thai Consulate Sydney ( Houston building 131 Macquire street)
Ambient : 4.5/5 . nice and relax. there are dining table for both in and out side. The counter appeared nice and clean. The products were being filled and they gave the feeling of their freshness. However there is not much room or special feature to the cafe ( expect quite pretty wooden counter)
Staffs : 5/5 Staffs are friendly. They greeted me with smiles ( even it was 6 am in the morning, which meant 3am my time in Perth; thus, needless to say, I was not the best self and couldn't reciprocate their hospitality ( but I was polite).
Food: 2/5 This was where I got disappointed about this place where I thought I could sit and hang around a bit until it was closer to my appointment time at the embassy. I ordered a bowl of Bircher muesli ( they presented them very well) and a toasted banana bread. I was hoping that the carbohydrate from the banana bread and the vitamin and sweetness from the fresh fruit and the bircher itself could my brain enough ATP to function. However, my palate disagreed with the bland taste of the muesli, the fruit on top was tasteless. They separate the yoghurt from the grated apple and oats ( sorry but it tasteless. was I paying 6$ to eat a baby food?). So I moved onto banana bread. I recognised the taste, texture, minimal smell right away , it was not homemade which I was very disappointed :(. I did not have any beverage as I knew coffee would not help when your body was in zombie mode. Plus , well, maybe the real reason is that I only drink espresso and no places except the Mill bakehouse on Norfolk ( in Perth) can satisfy me. ( I prefer to have a good coffee to set a good vibe of the day).
Anyway, as I was only ordered 2 simple items and not their specialties. I am in no place to decide whether it was worth trying out this...
Read moreOutstanding little cafe. Breakfast burger was so good, and the price is crazy affordable for Sydney CBD. Honestly, bacon egg roll for $4, how is it even possible? Coffee is nice and strong and robust flavour!
Atmosphere inside is nothing special, but there's a nice little outside patio space with the park across the street.
Highly recommend a visit here, before the price goes up to match the...
Read moreI used to go here in 2012/2013 when it had the streetfront premises in the building next door, and always enjoyed the food and service. When that lease changed, I thought the cafe had gone for good, however imagine my pleasant surprise ages later when I walked into the BMA building and found them there! Good food and coffee at good prices - the grilled fish and salad is a...
