China Blue — Restaurant in Sydney

Would really like to know what is going on with this restaurant?! Second time, almost caused me to go ‘literally blue’.

My feedback is entirely meant as constructive criticism, have no idea about the current circumstances of the staff and business…

My most recent order - the experience was horrific; provided simple special instructions which were not followed, no utensils provided (as requested), and unfortunately the food caused me severe stomach pains and awful gastro - almost to the point of hospitalizing me. The food didn’t resemble the photo.

Chicken and Mushroom Congee - overpoweringly salty, only had about two maybe three ‘1/4” thick slices’ of field mushroom, some thick and overpowering slices of ginger (many of which had the skin still on), only a few pieces of chewy chicken (with gristle) - they tasted as if they were just taken out of the freezer, brined for a bit and then boiled at a high heat before being added to the congee.

Deep fried dumplings - they looked nothing like the photo, certainly not golden and crispy. I even made a special request to ask that they were extra crispy! It was as if they were just cooked in some lukewarm oil for a short time - were totally pale, almost cold, and I could literally squeeze the oil out of them. Disgusting.

I’m no Gorgon Ramsay, but it’d certainly be interesting to see what his opinions were.

I won’t be ordering again, at least until I see a lot of genuinely good reviews, I wish you well in improving...

this was the worst (western) Chinese food i've ever had.

we got the honey chicken....

the largest piece was the size of a small walnut and you couldnt tast any chicken it was just all batter and honey..

we also got a basic fried rices which was almost as much as the main. it was delish compaired to the main, but $16 for fried rice!!!!

will never order from this place again.

over priced trash.. their low google & uber rating proves...

I'm surprised by the amount of negative comments on here. Ordered for the first time last night. And I can't fault it. Tasty and much bigger portion sizes than other Chinese restaurants in the area. I went very simple and ordered sliced pork belly with chilli, Mongolian lamb and sweet and sour pork. But they all tasted just as good as top quality Chinese restaurants I've been to. Absoloutly recommend and will be my go to Chinese...
