I seldom write negative reviews but this one is warranted. I went to Coffee Roooom with my two year old nephew. We ordered coffees and sat down outside by the small tripod table on the footpath. I did notice two ceramic mugs on the table but I did not have capacity to take them inside given I was looking after a two year old.
We were sitting there for at least 20 minutes and the mugs were not collected. My nephew bumped the wooden tripod table and the mugs smashed on the footpath.
I immediately alerted staff, apologised and offered to contribute towards the cost of the mugs. The staff member came over and rudely said âthey are very expensive. The large one is $80 and the smaller one is $50. Are you going to pay for them or not?â
A number of customers around me commented and looked shocked by how rudely the staff member spoke to me. I paid for the mugs and left but a few principles this business should note: Treat your customers with more respect Maybe donât use such expensive mugs which will be used on the sidewalk on flimsy tables Maybe your staff should clear said expensive mugs more quickly instead of leaving them outside.
I have never been spoken to so rudely by a service person, especially when I was trying to resolve the situation. I will not be back and neither will my family who live locally and...
Read moreWent here for the first time this morning after morning swim. Call me old school but service with a smile goes a long way. I ordered a chai latte and itâs the consistency of a long black. Very watery/milky. I wanted to be sure it wasnât me so I googled consistency of chai latte and creamy/velvety texture is what it says. Also when youâre finished making the coffee please put the lid on and give it to the customer before washing up and cleaning rather than doing that first and then serving customer. With two other coffee shops practically next door I hope it was just a one off and wish you guys the best...

Got pretty busy but the solo barista slinging coffees left and right really made the effort to be friendly. Ended up with a great iced latte and what my partner described as âa proper chaiâ, so wins all around.
Very aesthetic space (love the terrazzo), limited indoor seating but remedied by stools outside. Great selection of sandwiches and snacks with generous portions. Merch and such hanging on the wall. All good signs of a great...
