Black Pudding Blues We visited to weeks ago for the black pudding - the main reason we go. Unfortunately, it appears that the recipe has changed. Instead of being the beautifully soft, perfectly cooked black pudding that it used to be, it is now a firm, cut with knife, medium-fine sausage mince mixed with a touch of pigs' blood to darken the colour of the sausage. The menu should now describe it as "Sausage with a hint of black pudding".
After our breakfast, I asked the waitress whether they'd changed suppliers, and she said that they make it in-house. I then asked if they'd recently changed the recipe because now it's more like sausage than black pudding, and she shut the conversation down by saying that it says "Black Pudding Sausage" on the menu...no interest in enquiring with the kitchen as to whether this was a one-off or that the recipe had indeed changed.
With her indifference and not knowing whether the sausage that I had was an anomaly, we won't be bothering the staff...
Read moreNice cosy cafe. Had to wait for a bit to be seated due to the covid restriction, but not too long. There were 6 of us, but had to sit in 2 different tables on the street as they couldn’t be merged together or we were given the option to wait for maybe an hour for 6 customers sitting inside to leave. Orders came quite quickly but most of orders were unexpectedly bad. The currently menu doesn’t have much impressive dishes - the poached chicken salad was ordinary like eating at home, - fried chicken burger was so dry that my friend had to take a sip of water after every couple bites - less than 7 pieces of think sliced truffles on scrambled egg and sour dough for $30 brunch menu - house pork sausage that didn’t taste like pork more like beef? - I won’t order their ‘organic chai latte’ again. Friends stated their mocha was okay. Overall they serve ok food and service was better than average. Just am a bit disappointed since this was rated to be the best...
Read moreA delicious breakfast bun! Before doing the infamous Coogee - Bondi coastal walk, we both wanted a big, tasty & pretty affordable breakfast. We are so glad we walked a slight way from the beach to Little Kitchen. Both a little jetlagged & very ravenous we ordered rather large meals each. They were demolished in no time & we were not shocked at the bill at the end either! A great little spot with delicious food. It could perhaps be improved more if there was more room to sit outside (even bigger tables making it more spacious) as the atmosphere inside appeared a little hostile with locals not making it quite as warm as it could be despite the big smiles on the staff's face. Great effort by all staff we witnessed to be friendly, approachable & all in all, kind! Would recommend for the large, tasty food that won't break you bank like other...
