Average food and pathetic service.

My boyfriend and I drove an hour to come and have lunch here today and we were far from impressed. I think the staff may have noticed that we weren’t locals or something (I’m a woman of colour, my boyfriend has light skin and has some visible tattoos). Every other person in the restaurant was served kindly by the waiters, and it was highly noticeable. We both received a very unwelcoming and pretentious attitude from the waiters, particularly the main one (he looked older in age and I mistakenly forgot to get his name). We were even placed on a table far away from everyone in restaurant, and closest to the exit door. The cushions on the seat were also very dirty.

My boyfriend asked for the chequebook at the end and the waiter slammed it on the table without even looking or saying anything to him, and walked off. They didn’t even bother asking us if the food was okay, but preceded to laugh and chat with the other customers at other tables. I found his behaviour very disrespectful and could not wait to leave.

My partner and I have been to countless fine-dining restaurants together, but this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had and the food did not make up for it. It’s unfortunate that I can’t rate this place with zero stars because quite frankly, that’s what it deserves.

If a staff member from that restaurant has the decency to read this post: I strongly advise you to learn how to treat ALL your customers with the kind of respect that you would expect to receive from others. Never look down on your customers based on the way they look, they probably have enough money in the bank to buy out your...

This was my experience at Danny's Seafood Restaurant.

Please read this.

And look at the photos.

At 8.45pm:

I ate here last night, they turned the lights off and packed up and left while I was still eating, there was some other customers there eating too and they did not even care, they even locked us in, and I tripped over and hurt my ankle because it was so dark!!!

Police had to come and help me walk to my car as my husband has a back injury.

The food was cold, The staff were unfriendly and just wanted to pack up and leave, there close time is 9pm and they left aroud 8.45 while customers where still eating, we couldn't even wash our hands, there was no paper towels/napkins on the table either.

To top it off, tables were dirty, full of oil and they left garbage bags next to us outside the door while we were eating and I almost threw up.

When they came around to close the blinds i asked then what they were doing and they said they were packing up, and I said that we were still eating and he ignored me and walked away after closing the blinds!!! This is disgusting customer service and i wish it for no one, I can't walk for a week according to my doctor.

They even stacked chairs up around us and we had to move the chairs to be able to leave the restaurant....

Doesn't even deserve 1 star.

I hope the manager improves the quality of this restaurant/take away food shop as its on the beach and you would expect more from a area like...

Oh what’s to become of Danny’s?

Well where to begin – shall we start with the website that is so difficult to locate and decipher it is not worth the effort …

Now, we managed to locate the website and book ourselves a (supposedly) pleasant Sunday lunch…..how wrong we were. Upon being seated we viewed the menu and were surprised to discover our beloved Lobster Mornay was NOW not on the early bird special pricelist, but at full price. This is contrary to what was advised over the phone one day early. Note: we have been to many special occasions at Danny’s and ALWAYS, repeat, ALWAYS have the lobster mornay for half (1/2) price. We mentioned this FACT to the waiter and he so very, very belligerently refuted our claims stating he had been working there many years and the lobster was never half price (during early bird timeslots). Sorry but he was 100% wrong. Or maybe he was right and we were just clearly “lying”?

Sooooo, lobster is overpriced; let’s look at other menu items, and this we did. In the interim the waiters, especially the afore mentioned expert protagonist, now seem to ignore us no matter how much we attempt to get their ‘attention’. Wow, how peculiar and childish. The food was quite good and plentiful, nonetheless the actions of one surly and obtuse ‘waiter’, as well as the newly overinflated prices now mean Danny’s is a no go for...

We got the hot seafood platter, but both the hot and mixed cold+hot platters looked good. Generous portions so you will not leave hungry. The Platters are $120 which is on the pricier end of the scale. The seafood was cooked nicely, only the fish and rice was a little bit dry. A cheaper price point would make the platter more appealing. I agree with other reviews, that the decor is dated and the restaurant needs a refresh. Redoing the floors, replacing the front counter and giving the place a fresh coat of paint would really make a difference. The location and view is fabulous and there is a good balance of indoor and outdoor seating.

The grilled octopus was not grilled but more like stewed cooked (in a pressure cooker) and the fish was just like steamed then a thin quick pan fried not even grilled. The chips were not even properly fried as crunchy chips. It was a waste of money and not worth your time to chew, swallow or full your stomach. It’s an insult to your stomach. Trust me. It’s worth your time to wait for the restaurant across the road then just go for this one for quick turn around but with huge regrets after. I think they have changed management! :(

I couldn't eat my food. So many flies and birds lol I ordered fish & chips it was $13 The fish was not fresh. Because the smell was not good. And not crispy and they selling frozen food when I eat this a lot of water comes out from fish. also Didn't cook well The counter is mess. The employees were also tired from the hot weather. But this is restaurant !!! Must be friendly to the customer with smile. There are many tourists, so it seems that this restaurant can continue to operate.
