Read moreStarted 2023, we frequented Dopa Macquarie Centre for dine-in or takeaway. Every time at least one of us would order a salmon meal with rice or soba, as they use king salmon fillet from New Zealand, which tastes much better than the local salmon. However, at some point in 2024, their food quality started to drop, for every 5 salmon fillets we ordered, 2 of the salmon fillets had a foul smell, like fish that has expired or on the verge of expiring. Their manager and kitchen will replace the whole dish for us, whose service we appreciated. That’s why the 3 stars for service. I tried their hupa fish fillet too, but it was even more disappointing than the salmon. Since the opening of a more spacious new branch at Chatswood Chase, we hardly go back to the Macquarie branch anymore —— why should I take the risk and time to visit a branch that is not consistent with their food quality?
Response to restaurant: You did mention that the salmon fillets were from the same batch, however, the replacement was not “much better”, but were more acceptable than the previous serve. I didn’t bring them to your attention because it didn’t worth the effort to do so. Other branches such as the ones in CBD and chatswood didn’t have this problem. Don’t make assumptions about your customers satisfaction levels unless they say so, and don’t take my kindness for your advantage. Your response makes your credibility even more...
Read moreBeen dining here since last year, the quality has gone DOWN A LOT! Already collected some Doppa points on the app, went to ask how many more points do I actually need to redeem food. The short Asian lady with brown hair just said she didn't know, and instead of trying to help me find out actually started helping the NEXT customer and just left me standing there. I then asked to speak with her manager (this Indian lady), who said I had scan the QR code to collect points which I ALREADY KNEW. Like they don't actually listen to your question, and to this day no one really knows to how to use the points to redeem still.
As many others have mentioned, the food is SEVERELY overpriced. It's normal to pay around $35 per head for a small bowl of beef/salmon don, small salad and miso soup which can be finished in 10 mins.
Lastly, when I ordered the well-done salmon don, they actually gave it to me MEDIUM RARE instead. I did ask one lady to cook it for me, she was quite nice to tried to ask the Indian manager. The manager then just shouted once it's done, you can't bring the food back. What the heck they not only gave the wrong order, they can't even be bothered to spend an extra 2 minutes trying to cook a small piece of fish ridiculous. If the manager herself behaves like this, there's no hope.
