I liked this café and used to go there often, but recently I found eggshells in my omelette. I told the female manager and she told me that the reason there were a few shells in the eggs was because the café was busy with a small number of people, so sometimes there would be a few shells in the eggs. What should the customer say to that?
My English is not good, but I was very disappointed with that excuse. I just wanted her to apologise and I expected an attitude that she would try not to do it again, but there was no remorse from her. Instead, she kept arguing and saying that they were not at fault.
I was a bit angry at her attitude, so I said PLEASE be more careful, and she said of course! She told me that she was going to refund me and cook me a new dish, which should have been the end of it! I would have been fine with this, but she kept talking more and more angrily, making excuses. The worst part was she then tried to explain everything all over again to my husband, as if it was my fault and my attitude that was the problem. She doesn't know how to just say sorry and move on - customer service 101. I feel sorry for the other staff there because they are great.
If the owner sees this, please teach her some customer service skills. This didnt need to be a problem. Respect customers, admit mistakes properly and don't talk to customers loudly and aggressively.
It was Sunday lunch and she made me feel bad, I will never go there again and if there is something wrong with my food or drink I would not recommend talking to her. Because she doesn't know how to admit fault...
Read moreThe reason why I give Eggspresso 1 star is because of the service only as the food is great. First time I came i was served with a “yeah” instead of a hello at least. Second time, I waited for over 35mins for something that just needed to be warmed up in the microwave. Once I asked where my food was I was told that they forgot about my order and I will now get it 4mins. Third time, I ordered 3 different dishes for take away, which I repeated to the staff member 3 times. Again the wait was over 40mins for something that was already precooked and only needed warming up in the microwave. When I got my order only 2 of the dishes were given to me and for them to then tell me I never ordered a 3rd. When the manager came out she apologized and said it’s because they are too busy. Well I’m sorry that is not good enough. If the reason for all this is because you are busy then hire more “friendly” staff....
Read moreI can't see myself returning to Eggspresso. The food was pleasant and the atmosphere was okay too. What I didn't like was ordering and paying at the counter - not a big problem but after I finished breakfast I wanted 2 more coffees for the table. It was under $10 so I was told I would have to spend $10 minimum for a card purchase or pay 20cent surcharge. Considering I had just spent $40 on breakfast, in my previous transaction, I thought this was a short sighted business practice and a disincentive to order extra. For that reason I don't feel there is enough to encourage me to return when there are so many similar places locally that are more welcoming with similar or...
