Honestly never write reviews, but I felt I had to with this one as unfortunately it was probably the worst brunch I’ve ever had. I’m not sure if the chef had taken the day off but the food looked nothing like what we saw online and was honestly terrible. My partner ordered the chilli eggs which was a very bizarre and overpriced plate of food. Two eggs sunny side up with a spoon of something that looked like baked beans (no chilli) on top, a potato Rosti that had the consistency of porridge, and a random wedge of avocado - extra $4 for one slice of toast which was rock solid. It was also freezing cold, which again, was strange as there was barely anyone in there so not sure why the food didn’t make it to us whilst warm. I ordered the chicken finger sandwich which came and looked like something from a kids menu. Not sure what it actually was but was a normal sized slice of bread, crusts cut off into 3 slices. I had one request… no avocado & you guessed it… it came with avocado (and we were charged $4 for the pleasure even after raising this with staff staff). Maybe they had a bad day but will not be returning. Waitstaff were nice but overpriced &...
Read moreReally good coffee and good quality food but take care of your customers. Used to come here for many years every single day. When Chris was there now and then would be given a free coffee or something....kept me coming back as they are not the cheapest of places. More than anything, felt like a valued customer. A few months ago, was my son’s sixth birthday. Even then, not a free little cookie as a treat. Have spent thousands of dollars here over the years- places I’m no where near as loyal to have been more generous. And no formal loyalty program either. Speaking to a whole lot of locals who would come here regularly have heard exactly the same thing. I know I am certainly not the only one. Taking time to give feedback which will be I hope useful. Just letting you know guys, it doesn’t take much. A $3 cookie would have gone a long way but that was the last straw for me. Have found another local where I have to insist that they STOP showering us with too many treats- such beautiful people. Reminds me of what it could be like. Would...
Read moreSimple neighborhood cafe with several options for coffee and food.
We walked up to the takeaway window and were immediately invited to come inside. We decided to take a seat in this cozy, well-lit cafe and received friendly quick service. You can see the kitchen/food prep area when you step inside and the chefs greet you with a smile.
The place seemed to welcome several regulars who knew exactly what they wanted and staff offered familiar welcomes.
I ordered the mixed berry muffin along with the restaurant's namesake "Flat White."
Mixed berry muffin had chunks of pear in it that made the muffin a little mushy and on the bland side, but the actual berries were tangy and sweet. The texture was that of more whole wheat flour.
The flat white was smooth and finished off with some cute heart latte art. Not an overly strong coffee flavor which made the cream/foam stand out.
Overall, a lovely spot to walk to if you're in the neighborhood. Would definitely love to stop back by to try the...
