Food at SBS — Restaurant in Sydney

I’ve been a loyal customer for almost four years and used to like the variety of sandwiches, their sophisticated quality, amount of filling and incredible taste. After Covid their prices went up and the sandwiches become more scarce. Even with little filling they still taste nice and were adequately flavoured. This morning I ordered a large almond latte and came back for my late breakfast to have a couple of sandwiches and to have another small almond latte. My order was not taken correctly and I was given a normal latte. When I pointed out the mistake the person who took my order abruptly told me “No! You’ve asked for latte”, shrugged his shoulders, took coffee back and didn’t offer to replace it. The one star is for his impolite customer service which together with my 4$ left for wrong coffee make it in total 5. Hope that he’ll become richer. Other staff are always warm...

Couldn’t find a worse cafe if you tried.

Today I ordered a filo pastry with an iced soy latte, the man charges me for a warm coffee which was $1 less, realises his “mistake” (apparently he does this to multiple customers to scam them) calls me back to charge me again because he charged me $1 short. Like $1… is your business struggling that much? Perhaps working on customer service would mean you wouldn’t have to go to such desperate extents.

As a student nearby, I was planning on coming here regularly but I’m totally put off but the lack of customer service, lack of respect and stinginess. Not to mention their “smoothies” are made up of ice cubes filled...

I was charged $18.49 for a takeaway chicken schnitzel sandwich, which I don’t recall being the advertised price. The server said fresh or toasted, I said fresh. The bread was crunchy as if it was toasted (it was just stale). You would think for $18.49 I would get a well prepared sandwich, however the server just grabbed a old dry schnitzel out of the warmer in front of me, threw it onto the old bread and into the brown paper bag… Although I was dissatisfied, I wouldn’t usually complain. But when checking my account afterwards to confirm the almost $20 charge on my statement, that hurt…. Will get in the car and go elsewhere for work...
