Read moreWe usually go here for a meal and like it but tonight was different. First of all we went in and the host (maybe manager) on duty (a man with a beard) directed us to a table that was way too high for my young son to be able to reach to feed himself. He said it was either this or a table outside but it was starting to get cool and we were not dressed to sit outdoors. He said our choice but my wife pointed out that due to the fact that we were with a young child, neither was really an acceptable choice - for him to be cold outside or for the table height to reach his shoulders. He kept repeating it is our choice but we said again not really any choices to choose from given our little one was eating with us. He did not offer us the possibility to wait for another table nor to switch us to another table that was free instead. My wife just said, I understand, seeing how he was not open to offering us any other options. He threw the menus to the side as he walked away from us in what could easily be perceived as a somewhat aggressive reaction. I am glad he was not aiming at us at least. We had just received really bad news about our childâs medical condition that day, and it was so sad that we were treated this way. We were looking forward to a nice evening out to decompress and try to forget about our troubles for a little while. I realize that everyone is going through something, and perhaps this man too was having a tough day and just overreacted. But it was very uncomfortable and...
Read moreOnce a month our work team catch up outside of work for health & well being and to celebrate in this case 2 different staff members birthdays, another's 9 years of service with the organisation and another for having recently gotten out of hospital, yesterday was this time for us. We enjoyed barefoot bowls in Manly before attending Fratelli Fresh, to say we were disappointed with the service would be a great understatement. Immediately as we arrived we were questioned under which menu we booked so they could decide if we were able to stay 1 1/2 or 2 hours, we were questioned when asking for an additional drink while still having "10 minutes" left of our 1 1/2 hours and pushed out of the door because someone was outside waiting on our table. Which was a complete lie, there were 5 other free tables in the restaurant (one other with the same number of chairs) and we waited and watched (outside) and no-one took over our table. We also spent a lot of money and ordered off the main menu rather than the specials menu, so left quite baffled as to where this hostility towards our party and lack of service came from. We were not loud or rowdy instead professional, local, mature age customers who kept to ourselves. For us to get out of our office to team build is a huge effort and something we look forward to, such a shame that this months catch up was soured by this experience. We would not recommend Fratelli Fresh in Manly to anyone who expects to be treated...
