I feel like I’m the only one who is missing something here. The food was good, but reading all these rave reviews I thought it would be excellent. I also thought we would have excellent service based on these reviews. But the service was almost nonexistent. We literally saw our server twice. Once when we ordered the food, and once when we had to track him down to give us the bill. This is the real reason for the three-star review. The pizzas were fine. Maybe a four out of five. And I’ll talk about the food later, but the service was really quite miserable. The food was delivered, and no one checked to see if it was all we needed. The food delivered by a different server than the one who took our order. They were in a hurry. I would’ve loved to have had another glass of wine, but nobody came by. I understand they were busy, but just a check-in would have been really nice. And again, I had to flag him down to find the check.
On to the food. We each had a pizza. One of them was the lamb pizza, it was very good, but it could’ve used more meat. The second one was the salmon and caviar pizza. To me, this tasted just like a salmon on a bagel. We were excited about the avocado mousse and the horseradish crème fraîche, but the avocado mousse was just a small ribbon. In fact, you couldn’t really taste it. And the horseradish crème fraîche seemed to be nonexistent. (See photo). So. again, the overall effect was just basically salmon and bagel flavor. Nothing special. Both pizzas were covered in rocket. I like rocket, but this was potentially a bit more than each pizza needed. (See photo).
I understand that it was a holiday weekend, and they were quite busy. But it would’ve been nice to have a little bit more attention from the server. And a little bit more attention to some of the toppings on the salmon pizza.

Read moreMy wife and l booked this 3 weeks out as that is how far we had to book to get a table. I had never been, so the ambience and the darkness initially took me aback. I need not have worried as it adds beautiful ambience to the experience. It kind of juts out into the water so the view is incredible. But nothing to compare to the food. I will start this review by letting you know that should you decide to eat here the food is incredible...and so is the prices. So as long as you just ignore the prices you will have a cracking meal. So...we started with the mixed Croquettes which were delicious. One was smoked Mozarella and the other was a spinach and something. Both delicious. We chose a 2015 Tim Adams Shiraz and it was great. For main course we both had the Wagyu Beef with chat potatoes and a side order of Broccoli and beans. Well the Beef was the best Australian cooked Beef l have had in 10 years. I cannot recall a steak that was so good. We finished with a sticky date that was equally insanely good. The other part of the experience was our waitress who was amazingly attentive right throughout the meal. She fulfilled our glasses as requires and gave us knowledgeable advise as we asked it. She wad a big part of the total experience. As well as the wine we had double shots of Bailey's and l had an Archie Rose Standard gin which is just amazing. The entire meal was under 400 and l tipped the waitress $30 as she totally earned it. To sum up it was the finest dining experience we have experienced in the last 10 years. Highly Recommended for a...

When dining at Hugos Manly, I chose to take a ferry from the Sydney Opera House, allowing me to enjoy stunning views before and after my meal.
On this visit to Sydney, I would highly recommend Hugos as my top dining spot. Not only is their service exceptionally friendly, but the food is also something I must strongly highlight!
I ordered a seafood platter, as seen in the picture. The oysters and fish are sashimi-grade, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The sauces blend perfectly with the food, enhancing its flavors.
As for the cooked items, the freshness of the shrimp can be judged by how easily the meat separates from the shell. Here, the seafood is remarkably fresh, giving the impression that it was caught and cooked straight from the harbor—absolutely delicious.
I would also highly recommend Hugos’ duck breast. It’s seared to perfection, juicy, and tender. Paired with the chef’s special berry sauce, it creates a truly perfect combination. (Of course, if your budget allows, it’s best enjoyed with a glass of fine wine.)
This experience marked the rewarding conclusion to my trip, celebrating my hard work with delightful flavors. Hugos Manly offers everything—great food, wine, and views. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant when you’re in Sydney to enjoy it to the...
