This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in many years. Partner and I decided to go here on a whim ( freshwater ) as I wasn’t in the mood for the hustle and bustle of getting Mexican in Manly.
The food here was phenomenal. The staff here are phenomenal… and the service is above and beyond anything I had expected..!! Every wait staff was very tentative to every table and they worked in such harmonious synchronicity that they could crossover with each other without missing a beat. The bartender her is super polite was happy to talk about drinks and a little bit of history on tequila while making cocktails, and the cooking staff, out back are at the top oftheir game. I wish I could’ve gone out and shook their hands and thanked them personally on a flawless meal, and the fact that all 3 rounds, entree, mains, share dishes slow down the kitchen at precise time and at the perfect temperature with a wonderful array of flavours was a rare treat . The burrito was phenomenal , never in my life would I have thought a fish burrito could be as enjoyable as it was but the size on this made me feel like every penny was well spent, as the meal size was what I deemed to be man sized. The food and the atmosphere here started off somewhat like a Cosmo cafe and as the night went on, and it got busier, it seemed to be a casual , yet intimate restaurant , it was marvellous to see all staff pulling together whether it was for dining, takeaway, or Walkins strangely everything worked well. The music went well with the atmosphere, The staff complimented each other with their professionalism and discipline and for front of house and back of house, Whether they were a chef , a waiter or bartender, to be able to work with such synchronicity was staggering to witness, the owner should be proud of their staff and all staff members should be proud of their professionalism. It is such a retreat to see everyone come together as one, and it made the experience 1000 times more enjoyable when everything goes together like a well oiled machine I will most definitely be...
Read moreThis place seems to be quite inconsistent with their food. A line out the front shows how popular this spot is on a weekend, but the food can be either great, or terrible. A visit a month ago, we had really nice prawn fajitas & yum guacamole and chips. But last night: the food REALLY was a let down; it was bland (REALLY bland) under-seasoned and hot meals, cold. I had the Cajun spiced swordfish burrito - It was soooo bland. The spice rub seasoning on the fish was unbalanced and each element inside had no flavour. A pinch of salt and packing each individual element with flavour and seasoning would make this food great - but it really fell short. My friends beef burrito bowl was also missing seasoning and served to her cold (and sent back to be heated up). The guacamole needed salt and lime. Some sauces and salt and chilli condiments on the table would have helped with some of these things. Felt sorry for the table behind us who sat without food for around an hour. It’s a lively atmosphere, friendly young staff, but the food is not always good. Far better more consistent Mexican around the area...
Read moreWe have been supporting this business since they open, but unfortunately we will stop after a couple of times having issues with food and not showing the best costumer service. I once had a jackfruit burrito bowl with the jackfruit not being seasoned whatsoever, it looked like it was just poured from a can. And now second time, I had a fish burrito bowl, and the fish was completely raw. I have that order almost every second week and it has never been raw, but when I called to complain the person that answer just said that they always make it raw. Their menu says lightly sear, but this was fully raw. Only after we kept complaining they only offer to recook it, but it was a take away order, so it’s already been another 45 minutes and having to go back again, I would’ve expected something else than just to re do it Or give a discount for a future order. Working in many restaurants over the years when a mistake is done usually we would try to make it up to people, not waste peoples time and just...
