I don't usually write long posts about anything because it takes a lot of effort as well as a lot of thinking but this restaurant deserves it, plus my wife kind of forced me, because we both loved the food, atmostphere and service.
So, if you find yourself strolling through the bustling dining walkway of Wetherill Park, there is one place that stands out from the crowd: Gami Chicken & Beer. This gem of a restaurant offers an unforgettable experience that combines crispy, succulent chicken with a lively atmosphere and exceptional service.
From the moment you walk by, the aroma of sizzling chicken fills the air, making your taste buds dance in anticipation, I mean who can resist that smell. One dish that truly stole my heart was the Chicken Corndue. Imagine tender, juicy chicken pieces cooked to perfection, served with a rich and creamy corn and cheese dip. Each bite was like a cozy, flavorful hug for my palate. Staff members, if time allowed, would serve us the chicken, wrapping each piece with the corndue (thats Gami for corn cheese fondue... yum, I literally just drooled writing this part).
The must-try soy garlic sauce at Gami is pure magic. It coats the chicken with a delicate sweetness that leaves you craving more. The boneless chicken option is perfect for those who prefer a fuss-free eating experience without compromising on taste and texture.
And let's not forget the kimchi fried rice, topped with a perfectly fried egg. The combination of tangy kimchi, fluffy rice, and the rich yolk oozing over the dish is a symphony of flavors that will transport you straight to culinary bliss.
What truly sets Gami Chicken & Beer apart, though, is the exceptional staff. Their warmth and attentiveness make you feel like an honored guest. They are always ready to recommend dishes and share their genuine passion for the food they serve.
In the heart of the vibrant dining walkway, Gami Chicken & Beer shines as a must-visit destination. With its mouthwatering Chicken Corndue, irresistible soy garlic sauce, tantalizing boneless chicken, and addictive kimchi fried rice, this place is a haven for food lovers. So, take a seat, indulge in the delectable flavors, and raise your glass to the incredible team at Gami Chicken & Beer for creating an experience worth cherishing.
PS: If I had to choose 1 thing to recommend, try the coated boneless chicken with soy garlic sauce! Is that 2 things? Whatever,...
Read moreThere's only one real way to explain this restaurant -- painfully mediocre. Riding on the coattails of actually quality Korean fried chicken restaurants, this place is a demonstration of mediocrity in what should be a very simple restaurant -- tasty fried chicken and beer. While I'd say the chicken and beer part is hard to fail, you can truly see the restaurant mentality through their other dishes, like the army stew they're currently serving. This slop is nothing other than a slab of spam, three or four chopped mushrooms, and some cucumber boiling in a pot on a gas stove. Embarassing to serve this for $26, so low effort it almost feels like you're being mocked, as it doesn't even include the 4c of noodles that could make this constitute as 'restaurant food's (seriously this dish is so low quality, that in many years of dining, I've never had so much second hand embarassment at being served something -- I feel bad for the staff, who actually have to serve this, while also running a restaurant two man strong)
My only advice is this restaurant isn't terrible. But for the quality of restaurants on kinchin lane, this is definitely ranked at the bottom (and that's including Rashays!), and mocks quality Korean food that you'd get nearly anywhere else. I have literally never written a review this detailed and savage, this was actually an embarassing...
Read moreI will be advising everyone I know to steer clear of Gami franchises. There are better authentic Korean eateries out there who will value your business.
To the owner: treating customers with such blatant disregard is unacceptable. Your response to legitimate concerns not only lost you a loyal customer but also damaged your store's reputation. I urge you to take customer complaints seriously and ensure no one else is treated this way.
I ordered a large chicken for takeaway. When I received my order, it was shockingly small, around 300 grams.
When I called to address this, I was told the manager was away and to call back in five minutes. When I did, they hung up on me. Seeking resolution, I spoke with the owner, who seemed more annoyed by my complaint than willing to help. I was told the chicken was weighed and that it looked smaller in the box, implying it was my fault for perceiving it differently.
As a loyal customer, this experience was incredibly frustrating. The dismissive attitude and poor customer service have left me no choice but to avoid Gami franchises entirely. I will also be advising everyone I know to steer clear of them. Such disregard for customer concerns is...
