Seldom do I leave 1 star reviews, but I don’t see how this place can be 4.3 stars.
Came in with booking, seat, that part was fine.
Waiter asked if it was going to be a big order implying if he would remember it or write it down, I said please write it down just in case. (this is important later)
Got got beers right away after ordering, one drink missed but they realized when one person didn’t have a drink so they ask her what her drink was, no issue here.
We asked for water at ordering but reminder again.
First dish comes out, the corn, was good, not extremely hot like other places so that’s kind of cool thought eating a lot of Korean I was ready.
We asked for water again, to what seem like the manager (not in uniform) and he came back with a jug but no cups. One friend finished his beer and use that cup but I waived down another waiter for cups.
Japchae comes out and table setting is only a fork, so we asked for chopsticks, the manager brought out one 3 pairs, we though this was very odd, there was 6 of us, but i waived down another waiter for another 3 pairs.
The cheesy dish comes out, it was fine, feedback would be some Korean Chicken places give you a tin to place your bones, this place doesn’t.
Tteokbokki come out and they apologies for the lateness, it was 36 minutes after first dish, we are ok with this we weren’t rushing them too much, but the comment was and this was everything, we said where’s the large chicken order. So it was kind of pointless writing the order down if items were missed completely.
We asked how long, was told 10 minutes it took 19, that’s fair I guess.
Check flavour was good, but for bone in chicken the cuts were dry. Spicy isn’t too spicy but this could be adjust pallet for the area.
Went to pay, 15% public holiday surcharge I said that’s fine I understand, now to be clear, he hasn’t really complained or made a fuss at any point in the night. We aren’t that type of customers, but I was asked how was the food how was everything, felt like this was just conversation but I told the lady behind the counter, everything was so and so, there were lots of problems to address. Her response was; “ahh fair enough”.
I’m disappointed I recommended this place for dinner, and surprised at their 4.3...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Gami Korean Fried Chicken, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The star of the show, of course, was the Korean fried chicken. Every bite was an explosion of flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The menu offered a wide variety of options, from classic flavors like soy garlic and spicy to unique and inventive ones like honey mustard and cheese-infused. Each flavor was distinct and delicious, making it difficult to choose a favorite.
The portion sizes were generous, and the chicken came out piping hot and fresh. The presentation was also top-notch, with each dish beautifully plated. The attention to detail was evident, and it truly added to the overall dining experience.
The staff at Gami Korean Fried Chicken were attentive and knowledgeable, offering suggestions and answering any questions we had. Their passion for the food was evident, and their enthusiasm was contagious. They made sure that every aspect of our meal was perfect, from the drinks to the sides.
Speaking of sides, the menu offered a variety of options to complement the chicken, including kimchi, pickled radish, and fries. Each side dish was made with care and added another layer of flavor to the meal.
To top it all off, the prices at Gami Korean Fried Chicken were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. It was a great value for the money, and I left feeling satisfied and content.
In conclusion, Gami Korean Fried Chicken is a must-visit for any lover of Korean cuisine. With its friendly staff, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere, it truly stands out as one of the best Korean fried chicken restaurants in town. I will definitely be returning soon for another finger-licking...
Read moreWent here for dinner the other night, We also got stared down by one of the girls working there instead of her approaching, when she finally did we were basically turned away as we had 5 people, she then said she would get her manager then proceeded to go back behind the counter and make drinks and do nothing about it. Then another employee spotted us and came to talk, they then squeezed us into 2 tables fitting only 4 people. After looking at the menu and the prices we ordered, some of the dishes came fast like the chips and fried chicken etc, after receiving these we waited around 25-30 mins to receive the Chicken katsu dish we ordered.
The “share” fried chicken in the regular portion was very skimpy for around $42, there was only around 10 pieces of small fried chicken which barely lasted 5 minutes being shared by 3 people. The chips were okay but needed seasoning and no salt or pepper was provided. The Chicken Katsu was more like a thin and very overcooked schnitzel, with no traditional katsu curry sauce either, the chips again were unseasoned and the salad was okay. The Spicy chicken fried rice was also a bit skimpy on the portion, tiny pieces of chicken scattered though sweet fried rice and some salad on the side with no spice at all even in the “spicy” sauces.
This restaurant has a robot that takes the dishes to the tables so the servers are made useless unless there is a bigger dish to deliver, it also gets in the way often. Even after 2 tables were cleared next to us we weren’t offered to have another as the owner/managers seemed to prioritise profit over customer comfort.
Overall we were a bit unsatisfied with the food, service and amount we paid for the food. May try again in the future and hope our experience is better and not just because of a busy night during Ramadan.
