We visited on a Sunday 28th of May 2023 at about 7:00pm with our two young children. They were not very busy as we were walk-ins and they told us our table would be ready in about 5 minutes. Whilst we waited, we asked to look at the menu so that we could order as soon as we got a table. So once we got seated we asked to order and a waiter came to take the order. We ordered beef pad see ewe, prawn fried rice, chicken wings and chips, steamed rice, orange juice and lemon lime & bitters. Ordering was fine and now we just had to wait for the food to come.

I took one of my daughters to the toilet and when I came back our drinks had arrived. That was about 20-30 minutes after we arrived. But after that, we received nothing for a very long time. While we waited, they had seated 2 other tables. We noticed that those tables were also waiting about about 10-15 minutes to catch the attention of a waiter to take their order. Once the waiter finally took their orders, we still hadn't seen any dishes of ours out yet. By this stage we had already been waiting for 40 minutes and our two young kids were getting restless.

It was then that the waiter came to check in and asked us if we had received any food yet. We told them we had not and asked then to check for us as it had been a very long wait. This is when it got to a boiling point for us. The table next to us, who was seated much after us, received their food and had started eating before us. My partner went to ask the waiter what was happening. They told us they would check but no one came to our table to apologise or even acknowledge what had happened. By this stage we had waited at least 50 minutes but we continued to wait for our food. But by this stage our kids were crying because they were hungry and the staff did not show any care or come to check in to see what they could do. There was no sense of urgency or attention. After more than 50 minutes we only received steamed rice. They then brought out nuggets and chips, which was the wrong order. They dropped off the food and then ignored our table for another 10 minutes as we were trying to sort out the wrong order. Then after a further 5-10 minutes they brought out only the prawn fried rice.

When the waiter brought out only the fried rice, we had had enough. We told them we no longer wished to eat there and wanted to cancel our order as we were leaving. Their reply was simply “ok.” They showed no sense of accountability. They never apologised for the wait or mixup. We did not feel like they showed us any care for our hungry children and they did not take us seriously when we asked to follow up.

We would not recommend this place nor would we ever go back. It was our first and last time. I urge you not to go here if you have young kids, as they are not priority. Disgusting how they...

From the moment you step into KITCHAI Thai Restaurant, you're greeted with an atmosphere that perfectly balances elegance and comfort. The soft lighting, tasteful decor, and gentle background music create an inviting space ideal for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. But the ambiance is just the beginning; the true star of KITCHAI is undoubtedly its exquisite cuisine.

The menu at KITCHAI is a thoughtful collection of traditional Thai dishes and innovative creations, each prepared with the freshest ingredients and an obvious passion for flavor. The Tom Yum Soup is a standout, boasting a harmonious blend of sweet, sour, and savory notes. The Tom Yum Egg Noodle Soup is a must-try, with its rich broth and aromatic herbs. For those seeking something more filling, the Beef Pad See Ew is tender and melts in your mouth. The Tom Yum Fried Rice is a testament to the chef's dedication to authentic Thai flavors.

No meal at KITCHAI is complete without trying their Lychee Virgin Margarita and Lychee Margarita. Both are refreshing and perfectly balanced, making them the ideal accompaniment to any dish.

What truly sets KITCHAI apart is the exceptional service. The employees are not only attentive and efficient but also genuinely warm and welcoming. They are always ready to offer recommendations, accommodate dietary restrictions, and ensure that every guest feels valued. The owner's presence adds an extra layer of hospitality; their passion for providing an outstanding dining experience is evident in every detail. They make it a point to connect with diners, creating a personal touch that is rare and greatly appreciated. A decent but pricey experience...

Went there today expecting better. After reading harsh reviews, I thought that people were being too judgemental as Kitchai just opened so it was normal as they were in the adjusting phase. Unfortunately the other reviews were true and there is definitely alot of room for improvement for Kitchai.

Most of the dishes we ordered were okay definately over priced for what it was. Two dishes that we received were underwhelming - the first one was the Thai Roti Roll - this was basically 2 Roti bread rolled up with a light drizzle of condensed milk as I said... nothing impressing about it. The second one was the Pandan Jelly dessert - this dessert made us laugh as it was basically the asian jelly desserts in take away containers you buy from Cabramatta - this was confirmed by the flustered waitress when she said "let me check if we have the jelly because I don't know if the lady delieveried it today".

I also wanted to mention Kitchai's service. Their staff are definitely inexperienced and would get flustered at every little request we would ask from them. Food came out in a timely manner however on two separate occasions we had to remind them that our other dishes were still missing. We did tell them not to worry about one dish as it hadn't came out yet and were told that it couldn't be voided as it was already in the system - this was 20 mins after we finished all desserts that had already came out.

All in all not the best experience. As stated already the food wasn't that bad but definitely not worth the price and they definately need to train up their staff or get more competent ones.

Don't think we'll be coming back...

Would Return. Recommended. Call me a skeptic.. great Thai food all the way out here? Large portions, great flavour with on point wok hei. Pad Kee - perfect. Spicy. Sweet. Savoury. Noodles are still al dente. Fried Chicken - par. Similar to Korean sweet spicy. A little dry since they use chicken breast. Tom Yum - delicious. Flavours are absolutely on point. Could be more spicy. Overall, very good food and loads of tables. Food comes out very fast. Expect $30-$40pp.

Decent for a cheap Thai food craving (but could be better)! My friends and I dropped by for dinner on a Friday night. As expected, the place was packed, but I had reserved a table in advance. I really wanted noodles, so I ordered the Pad See Ew - Smelled amazing as it came out, and I love that you could see the char from the heat of the wok on the food - Food came out quickly - mine in 5 minutes, and the rest of my table's 10 minutes afterwards HOWEVER... - the chicken was dry - vegetables curry puffs tasted quite plain, and weren't crispy on the outside - my pad see ew was SO oily, my mouth felt like it was thinly coated by the time I'd finished my meal - (because of this...) there wasn't really much flavour to be tasted - we'd also ordered cocktails, which were pretty lacklustre. they weren't cold, even with what little ice, and because of that, they tasted much too sweet. - Entire sprig of mint plus a lot of fruit chunks made my drink a bit of a pain to consume. I discarded the former and just had to try to suck around the latter, but it would get stuck in my straw. One thing to note, I also had some mild stomach pains after my visit - this usually only happens when I consume a lot of oily food, and I've only had water since. I would recommend the chefs use less in the future. (Pictured: Pad See Ew, Massman curry, vegetables puffs, fruit. Drinks: Fruit?, purple rain)
