We're two elderly visitors to the Glebe area anchored in Black Wattle Bay. A friend recommended Fish & C0., at Tramsheds, but because of our dog, we had to do Fish & CO., takeaway (we can't leave our dog alone on our yacht). We looked for outside seating at Tramsheds, out of main eating areas of both Garcon and Messina to enjoy our lovely Fish & Co Hake and chips. We sat on the Messina side outside their hedge, but we had barely put fork to mouth, and Garcon server began to harass us to move on. He placed reserve signs on the table (which were not marked for either Cafe), and returned repeatedly, asking us to "move on" mid meal. We explained we had a dog, we were visitors, they were not busy by any stretch (no lines at the door and empty tables everywhere), but he kept coming back, obviously pushed by his Supervisor, because was quite polite. Supervisor came out and also chastised us for sitting at the unmarked outside tables on the Messina side. Long story short, I wouldn't bother with Garcon...they are disrespectful of elderly people just trying to enjoy a bite of Fish & Co...by the way, it was quite delicious. I highly recommend Fish & Co for their food and staff good manners. Can't say the same for Garcon. ...
Read moreWe ordered via the QR code option on the table — 2 coffees, 1 crepe, and 1 nuggets and chips. Coffee arrived within 5 min, not the best coffee but good enough. 30 mins has passed and our food still hasn’t arrived, while we see customers who came after us got their orders already. When we followed up, we were told our order didn’t come through so we had to wait more as they still need to prep it. It’s really odd that the coffee included in the same order went through but not the food. Something is definitely wrong with their online system. Had we not followed up, we would be waiting a long time for nothing.
The crepe was okay at best. We got the ham and cheese one — it was plain and bland. You’d be better off buying a cheaper ham and cheese sandwich from a grocery store. No doubt the chicken nuggets were grocery store bought frozen ones, which would be totally fine if they chose the ones that actually taste like chicken. But what we were served was fried nugget shaped dough. The only consolation...
Read moreUpdated review: We’ve tried a couple times their truffle cordon bleu & shakshuka and we’re never disappointed: they both are really tasty! Would definitely recommend these 2 dishes.
The pineapple sunshine mocktail & ice matcha latte were both okay flavour-wise (and lacking of presentation!).
The Nutella crepe is always amazing (though the crepe was a bit too chewy for our liking at our last visit.. hopefully it was just a bad batch!)
Also, love being able to order from the QR on the table; so much more convenient! ———————————— Great food and ambiance! I definitely recommend the Berry French Toast, it was fluffy and so tasty.
We also had the chicken & corn chowder, which was a generous portion and good for the chilly weather. We finished it off with an apple crumble crepe which was amazing.
All these accompanied with a “Jane the Queen” tea and a cappuccino, it was a great experience (+ loves that we could come with our dog!). Would...
