There were some hits and misses during our visit to Goblin Kitchen and Bar, but overall, we liked our time there. I ordered the hotcakes. They were an absolute standout! They were very generous in size and perfectly cooked through. They were very light and fluffy. Usually, whenever I've had hotcakes at other cafes, I've been given one, but here, the serving size was two. The biscoff crumb provided a subtle crunchy element to the dish, while the tang of the green apple and berries nicely offset the sweetness of the caramel sauce. Other items on the menu sounded good, too. There is also no Saturday surcharge.
One of the misses was that my friend didn't feel the cafe catered well to different dietary requirements. When asked if items could be modified to suit, staff seemed a little confused. Service was also quite slow. The furniture and decor...
Read moreWent there today after not having gone for a while. Ordered a coffee and some food, both were served with no water. After I finished my meal I asked if they had ginger for an orange and ginger juice so I had something cold and refreshing to wash it all down with. They had no ginger but was offered a strawberry and orange juice which I agreed to. A thick orange and strawberry smoothie was placed in front of me, definitely not a juice. I got up pretty much as soon as the beverage was placed in front of me and asked for the bill, the waiter asked if I didn't like the juice, I told him I didn't even try it, as It was not juice like I asked for. They did not even offer to give me a juice or not charge me for the smoothie. They simply said oh sorry, gave me the bill and took my money. Terrible customer service, do not...
Read moreI ordered a large coffee and bacon egg roll. As simple as simple can get. But I've had my fair share of bacon and egg rolls some ok some not so. I don't know what magic they do but the bacon & egg roll I had was above standards.
The eggs were cooked to absolute perfection. It wasn't overcooked and rubbery but also not undercooked where the egg yolk is so runny that it drips everywhere the minute you take a bite. (I like slightly runny eggs but not when your taking away and it could get extremely messy).
The bacon was also cooked through but not overcooked like cardboard and when taking a bite the whole bacon didn't get pulled out of the roll. With the addition to the baby spinach added a bit of freshness to cut the richness of the bacon& egg. Coffee was definitely brewed well no bitter aftertaste. All in...
