Golden Oceans Chinese Seafood Restaurant (文興海鲜酒楼) — Restaurant in Sydney

We came in on Father’s day. Ordered a live steamed barramundi but was given dead one instead. The worst is the seafood hot pot we ordered. Half way finishing the dish we found a cockroach in it...lost all appetite and very disappointed. The Male Manager at the time came to apologise and offered not to charge the seafood dish and offered a replacement dish “free of charge”... We didn’t want to ruin other customer’s night so we decided to deal with the situation. When paying our bill at the cashier, the female manager still tried to charge us the “seafood hot pot with cockroach” and we ended up paying the replacement dish which was suppose to be free as well. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly but Apart from that very bad experience! Would like to suggest to anyone who is considering on going to be aware of this...

Firstly, I must commend the restaurant for the delicious food. The flavors and quality of the dishes were truly nice!

However, I feel disappointment with the service during my visit. While enjoying our dinner, a waitress unexpectedly handed over new plate to change our existing plate without seeking our permission. This abrupt change left us somewhat uneasy, and I couldn't help but wonder if this is a customary practice within the restaurant's culture.

Towards the end of our meal another incident occurred somemore just 3 tables of customer, without any prior inquiry, another waitress combined several of our remaining dishes onto one plate. This action seemed unusual and somewhat awkward, and we were surprised by the decision without...

The waiter was very friendly and the food was served very quickly which was perfect. Unfortunately we got unlucky and ordered the fried rice near it’s expiration date (it could be the hot weather) as I could taste slightly ‘off’ flavour from the rice. The pork didn’t have enough flavour but was fried nicely, but the noodles were amazing! 5/5 recommend! Chicken could have been treated better to remove the gamey flavour but quite good nether less. Bitter melon jelly was amazing! Would recommend for a quick dinner or with large parties, it’s was slightly on the pricy side but still within acceptable range for...
