STINGY to the ABSOLUTE, food taste below average and at pricing above average. Way too high for the low quality and stingyness.
The family spent over $2000 here and the food was no good meh or just ok average. Seafood wise we ordered lobster, oysters, pipi. Other dishes we ordered tofu, vegetables, pork dishes, beef dishes. We definitely are not stingy when we visit Chinese Seafood restaurants. We had 2 table about 15 adults 6 kids. If you look at what we ordered seafood wise the only expensive thing would be the lobster oysters and pipi is not the expensive seafood compared to crabs, live fish which is what we usually would also order at Chinese seafood restaurants but this place was so stingy, they don't give you the free soup and the pricing was high so we skipped the extra seafood dishes which we normally would order at other restrictions. So how did the bill gets over $2000? For the dishes we ordered? Well this place is above average in price but below average in quality.
The worst tasting dish on this visit was the oysters. It was the standard steamed oysters with soy sauce, you know what I'm talking about if you're Chinese, it's just the standard oyster dish all seafood restaurant has. The oysters was over cooked and dry the dressing was also very bland. Biggest shock is unlike all the other restaurants they don't give the standard free soup every other restaurant give. For every other restaurants the soup that comes out before everything's is free. It's like going to Korean restaurants you just get the side dishes. So imagine not getting it or have to pay to order them.
Another shocking part is at the end of the meal they give you a small plate of fruits watermelon and orange slice, again very standard stuff but it was very small plate. Usually that's not the only thing at other restaurants you'll get some biscuits or cookies and you'll also get the very standard dessert the sweet red bean dessert . Again if you're Chinese you know what I'm talking about. However this place gives you a few fortune cookies and doesn't serve the red bean dessert. Wow. It would literally cost them less than $5 to make a huge massive pot of that stuff. So you know what I mean the level of stingy this place is and for how expensive this place was with below average food.
I would say never go back to a place that doesn't give you the standard things other restaurants would.
Tables are also very squishy. They try to squeeze in as many table as possible. Tightly packed next to other tables because yep this place is stingy.
I usually take photos of all my dinner outting and all the foods but this place was so dissapointing that I've only taken a few at...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times with friends before I didn’t look at the bill as I did this time. I booked for 2 tables 8 days prior for a birthday dinner. During the 8 days, I called 4 times to confirm seatings, seafood prices and to get the menu in advance to pre-order the dishes. Everything was fine & pleasant up to the time we had to pay for the bill. I was overcharged for drinks we never ordered + dishes that I clarified in advanced and then later told the portion was “double” and therefore we have to pay double the listed price on the menu (means 2 dishes, we pay 4x menu price). Plus, the seafood price advised over the phone almost doubled the price we pay for at the end of the dinner. I queried 7 out of 10 items listed on the bill and after going back and forth 3 times, the Manager told us the listed dish was HALF of what we ordered. The Shan Tung chicken price is higher than I pay for grain-fed wagyu beef I pay at a 5-star restaurant. Why would I pay for such price for just fried chicken?!?! Totally disappointed with the misleading information and overcharged prices which I clearly clarified BEFORE ordering the dishes. Is the food good? 6.5/10 Is the food great? Noooo Is it amazing compared to hundreds of the other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to over the past 3 decades? Nooo Why did I go there? Because it was closer to home and opens until 1am. Would I come back again? Maybe- if only someone invite me and willing to pay for the overcharged price OR there’s a change of management. Did they apologise for the overcharged drinks and dishes? Noooo The stone-faced lady at the register gave us money back for the drinks without any apologies nor did the Manager. Beware and check the bill BEFORE paying for it esp. drinks as they sneak in a few drinks without you noticing. Always order what is listed, don’t listen to their add-ons of extra portions because they charge any price that is not listed& justify that the dish is only “half” a portion. Always buy jasmine rice as a dish instead of a pot/can because you have to pay “corkage”….better off to pay a dish of fried rice which is...
Read moreNah give it a miss. Very average food and priced quite high, the food lacked much flavour and when we went, another family was having a party with maybe 5-10 kids who were screaming nonstop. They were placed in the other "room", however that room didn't have any doors to seal the noise, and the echoing of screaming was unbearable. I get it you want to have a party, kids get loud because they are kids but we dined for maybe an hour and a half to two hours and there was not even a second break from the screaming. To top it off, some of the other diners were also visibly distressed and opted to take away early, and no other group were conversing much. Overall atmosphere is a solid 0. Would never sit down to dine here again.
We have eaten here a few times before without the visceral screaming experience and the food was good at the start with plenty of flavour but now, the food tastes so watered down and it feels like the restaurant is now milking the last of their reputation for money. They strayed away from making tasty food, only profit. Very disappointing, don't think I will...
