My daughter was visiting from interstate and wanted to go to a Greek restaurant. I decided on Greek Feast due to close locality and good reviews. Coming from a Greek that was bought up with basic Greek home cooking I found this place hugely disappointing and very embarrassing to call this "Greek Food". And I have no idea how anyone can say this place is good or a hidden gem. It’s more like reheated, left over food on a shipwreck! Read Why.... We decided to have the Signature Dish being the Greek Feast for 4 as it had everything on it... Firstly out came the 4 dips with pita bread. Now remember this is supposed to be a serving for 4 people. There was probably the equivalent of a heaped teaspoon (not tablespoon) for each dip. By the time one person took enough to spread on some pita bread there was almost nothing left leaving that person embarrassed for taking so much. Next came the meats - slow roasted lamb, spiced chicken, beef kofta, falafel (which is NOT Greek????), spiced chickpea crunch and rosemary potato. The meats came in 2 small half-filled bowls - probably sufficient for 2 people to eat but for 4 people it was more like left over scraps and tasted like scraps too. And not even served on a platter with separate sections for each meat. Rather all thrown in together. We found the chick peas buried under the lamb. So ZERO points for quantity and presentation. These people would not even make the qualifiers on MKR. I got the impression that all the meats and falafels were left-overs from the night before and had been reheated, not once, but maybe several times. They were all rather dry and tasteless. The chicken for example was more like dry crispy chicken. Sorry, not what I ordered! The lamb wasn’t crispy like the chicken (thank God) but rather dry and plain tasting. Certainly not the succulent, tender, garlic infused lamb one would expect for a slow cooked roast. The kofta (Greek sausages) were the most tasty of all, but again rather stiff and dry like they had been reheated from the night before. The falafels where tiny balls with a hard crispy outside and dried out inside. They were OK. But not restaurant quality. You would think the rosemary potatoes would have been roasted in with the lamb to make them soft and tasty. But no. These appeared to be lightly fried with no hint of rosemary. Definitely NOT Greek style potatoes. Well at least there were plenty of these. The best part of the Greek Feast was the Greek salad and everyone agreed it was fabulous! At least they got something right. We gave the 2 Greek desserts a miss. At $10 each they were way overpriced as you can sit down in a nice Greek cake and coffee shop such as Christopher’s and get a decent portion for $5-$6. Enough said. Would I go back there or recommend it -...
Read moreVery basic dining-in experience positioned on a main road with very little parking and BYO but since we’re local we mostly order in because they offer consistently delicious food at great value prices! My only criticism is that I decided to try their bougatsa the other night and at $9.50 it was actually really unpleasant - pretty much just unsweetened custard with no flavour in between soggy pastry and a side of lemon curd (the best part of the dessert). Aside from this small disappointment we absolutely LOVE Greek feast.
EDIT: I’ve rated down a star because we’ve been eating Greek Feast consistently for the past couple of years that they’ve been open and we’ve noticed that the past two delivery orders we’ve received have had a noticeable difference in portion size, to the point where our order of a Gyros Mezze platter for two actually doesn’t fill either of us. In addition, the cost has increased but even if the price increased more I would still see value, however, where they’ve gone wrong is actually just reducing the portion size too much, particularly the amount of meat you get. Also, tonight’s order took an hour to be delivered apparently because they were waiting for their driver to turn up- we’re located less...
Read moreA true gem! Excellent quality and delicious Greek food in a casual and authentic dining setting. We had the most wonderful meal today and even with the 6 of us and a busy looking kitchen, the food came out quickly and piping hot. We had standout service; easily the best we've experienced in a long time! From the friendly and simple ordering process, to giving helpful suggestions and amending the share plates to suit our individual likes, all the way to ensuring there was always table water (something a lot of places lack), this place is a must-try for anyone. Thank you so much Greek Feast, you made our evening a memorable one! We will be recommending you to all our...
