I was up in Sydney for work and got a chance to catch up with a friend up in Penrith way, he suggested we meet at Grey Gums Hotel, great idea because I love a pub feed.
Plenty of parking available for the designated drivers, access is easy, the facilities are good, amenities are all clean. Noticed a couple nice and eccentric cars out and about, could be a great venue for an automotive community to start or end a cruise at.
The food was great, had the steak and chips, typical pub fare at cheap prices (much cheaper than the average around Melbourne).
Steak was cooked perfectly, good serving of chips.
Bar staff are super friendly and customer service is on point while being laid back - shout out to the front of house staff for having it together.
The beer was bloody cheap - was paying less than $8 for a pint at Grey Gums, to put that into perspective that's literally less than half the price of some of the bourgeois 'pubs' in the inner suburbs of Melbourne where 'manbuns' and skinny jeans on blokes are all the rage, was paying $18 for pints a few weeks ago in comparison to the $7.60 or what ever it was here at Grey Gums.

Read moreVery disappointed in the management and the bar staff.
I went for a catch up lunch with a friend and my daughter, as kids do they need to be changed. I asked be bar staff for a change room for my daughter to use , and I was told the only place they have is a patch of bench (not even a change table) in the ladies room, and me being a male Im not aloud to use it and asked me to change my daughter in the middle of the restaurant on the table and sniggered to herself as if it was funny. That’s your resolution you couldn’t make sure the toilet was empty so I could change my daughter not even 5 minutes. Who has a play ground for children but not a suitable place for father to change His kids , let alone a proper toilet facility for children and both parents allowing them in there. I cant stress how Poor and unacceptable the behaviour is by your staff management. Especially saying “kid friendly” highly not recommended.
And I will be making a report to fairwork ombudsman over this poor behaviour. I would like an apology...

From the moment the plate arrived, I was captivated by the visually appealing presentation. The perfectly cooked barramundi was tender, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The subtle seasoning complemented the natural taste of the fish, allowing it to shine through without overpowering it.
The addition of prawns elevated the dish to a whole new level. The succulent prawns were cooked to perfection, adding a delightful textural contrast and an extra hint of richness to each bite. Their delicate taste blended harmoniously with the barramundi, creating a harmonious seafood symphony...
