It is currently 7:12PM Sunday night (Father’s Day) my partner, our daughter and I had come for dinner to celebrate Father’s Day. We are quite regulars here regardless of special occasions as it’s one of our favourite places to eat, we usually sit in the same spot each time if it is available which is in the back, tonight it was closed off, I asked one of the workers why to which his response was “because we close it off towards the end of the night, (looks at his watch) then says 9:30” my response was “it’s only 7 that’s still 2 and a half hours away and google says 10PM close” he shrugged his shoulders as if my question and my presence was a nuisance to him. Mind you this is not the first time something similar like this has happened at Grill’d MacArthur square, the last time it happened it was 8:40PM and we were refused dine in and only offered take away despite being open till 10PM according to google.
Not to mention not too long ago in July I believe it was, we had come for dinner and I had used the QR code on the vas to order, part of my order was that grape Soda drink for my daughter she gets it every time we come here, when she had a drink of it she said mum it taste weird (shes 12) I said why and she said just doesn’t taste the same so I had a drink and instantly I could smell the vodka in it and tasted it NO ONE in the work place had any care when approached they treated it like it wasn’t a bad thing. I’m so disappointed in this grill’d. I would appreciate if HR contacted me for further discussion. That entire workplace needs to...
Read moreI was in Friday 16/09/16 night with a friend. A waitress gave us a table and menus promptly, but as it was our first time at Grill'd we didn't immediately realise we had to go to the bar to order. When we realised, the pair of us walked up and another couple stole our seats. We weren't too upset, just moved to another table. We sat outside, the location has a pretty good vibe with energy, but still relaxed.
We ordered an Almighty, a Nourish and Flourish, a Zucchini Chips and a regular Chips. The Burgers were reasonably priced for restaurant service, flavour was quite good. Zucchini chips were new to me, but I quite liked them. Chips could have used a little more herb/salt combo as well.
We quite liked the charity program that Grill'd runs, you are given a bottle cap with your order and place it in a glass container to vote on which one of three charity organisations receive funding by Grill'd. Choices can be a real conversation topic during dinner as well, weighing up a local family vs mental health funding etc.
All in all, this is a very solid burger location that I would go back to for a casual dinner, even on a budget - one burger alone is enough to keep you going, $15 or less with table water. I'd recommend it to friends in the area, but I wouldn't travel half an hour too...
Read moreI love grill'd but their service has been declining, and after my last experience I wanted to leave a review. The girl that served me got my order wrong, despite going through it with her (it was a small order too). Also didn't get me any bottle caps, had to ask (but that is a side note).
Then I had to speak to another girl to have my order corrected (as they got it wrong), she seemed as confused as the other girl. Then I got my meal only to have it missing items. I had to call someone over and show them that items were missing, I also showed them my receipt and menu so they could see it was part of the order. I don't know if they have new staff, but they were so lost.
I like their food, but it doesn't taste the same when you leave out ingredients. I also was turned off by the incompetence of multiple staff (it was like the blind leading the blind).
If this experience was a one off, I would not leave a review, but this has happened before.
I use to love Grill'd, now I just tolerate it like a bad...
