(3.5 stars) Crisp and dry deep-fried dishes sets Hà Nội Quán apart from a bewildering array of small restaurants lining Beamish Street in Campsie. It is part of a two restaurant operation with another restaurant in Marrickville. In Camspie it’s a large, simply decorated space with brown bistro tables adorned with three different types of chilli sauce. We put them to good effect across chá tôm ($12), crisp prawn rolls presented on vermicelli noodles with their own sweeter style of chilli sauce. They’re tasty though I find my chopsticks leaning toward chà mực ($12) where chewy squid cakes are dragged through their own sweet red sauce. Gà rang muối ($20) or salt and pepper chicken is equally good: well-drained of clean oil and excellent with the dark pot of chilli sauce on the table or the bottle of sriracha. Eaten over savoury cơm chiên gà ($15)—chicken fried rice—it’s a tasty, simple meal particularly when balanced by some greens: we opted for stir-fried kang kong with garlic ($14). Dậu hủ thiết bản ($20) spits and sizzles its way to our table, with friendly staff making sure we’re aware not to touch the superheated cast iron fish-shaped dish. Frozen baby peas, corn and carrots are put to good effect in this sizzling fried tofu dish protected from drying out by an egg wash at the base of the dish. Hà Nội Quan delivers good tasty food at the price point, with complimentary tea on the tables and BYO warmly welcomed.

The restaurant is located away from the main shopping strip, just opposite Canterbury council. Even though it’s in a quiet area, it still able to attract lots of customers especially in the evenings. Hà Nội offer Vietnamese cuisine dishes that offer 3 positive points: 1.Great food, 2.Great portion, 3.Great prices Every dish is well cooked and presented nicely. There’s nothing to fault about Hà Nội except some of the staff members who seem unfriendly and impolite. There’s plenty of tables to accommodate different group sizes and shared tables for individuals. There’s ample street parking directly outside further along the road. Amenities might be a bit inconvenient for some as they are not located within the restaurant.

Nov 2022: Tried the crispy skin chicken and tomato rice, the bowl of grilled pork and spring roll vermicilli noodles and a coconut juice. Perfect summer options and generous servings. Update July 2022: Price increase by $1 for most items so now $16, and they've also just changed the rice noodles which is thinner and lighter - it's easier to pick up with chopsticks and coming out of winter I think it's a nice change and still feel comfortably full. Original post: Delicious beef and beef brisket pho for $15 - decent sized portions accompanied with fresh sides along with busy and friendly lovely lady that recognises and remembers us. Cash only and highly recommend- our fave local Vietnamese restaurant.

I rarely review things which I receive via Uber Eats. I am highly motivated to review on this occasion.

I have now ordered four times from this interesting restaurant in Campsie. I have never set foot into it, hence all I can speak of is the food. I quite like that my experience is not coloured by extraneous factors.

For the last two orders I have enjoyed Grilled Pork and Hanoi Spring Rolls (Bun Thit Nuong Cha Nem). This dish comes with noodles and a little salad, the dish being mainly the gorgeous Vietnamese spring rolls (nothing like chinese spring rolls) and lean perfectly grilled thin pieces of pork.

Considering the food is about 30 mins old by the time the delivery guys turns up, each time the food has been perfect.

I am so impressed with their food that I will find an opportunity to go there and experience their full offering. Their menu has great variety - it is hard to know where to start. One of my colleagues regularly has their Pho which is amazing - I steal some of his.

Sydney has so many of these gems. They are usually family run so I hope they are doing well. I will certainly order their food again and again! I will do another review when I...

So dissapointed, My wife and I were regular diners at Ha Noi Quan Campsie, this was a gem of a place but after this afternoons visit we reluctantly won't be going back. Firstly the portion sizes were substantianly smaller then usual, I thought that it was just me but I waited for my wifes response first before I said anything, she brought his subject up also. Then what I saw next totally floored me, Food recycling!!! While we were eating the 2 staff members began clearing up the table next to us when I noticed that one of them picked up a plate of bean sprouts and lemons and started picking through it. He picked up one piece of lemon which looked squeezed, they said something to each other and he placed it on a dirty plate, he picked through the bean sprouts again on the plate and found 2 other pieces of lemon which were not squeezed and put them back in the sprout plate with his bare hands. He then took the plate back to the kitchen and returned to help the other man clean the rest of the table. Sorry folks, that's enough for me,...
