This is how terrible the Hungry Jack's at Circular Quay is: I'm a 20 year old guy who has pretty much never rated any restaurant online before because I simply can't be bothered, but the Hungry Jack's at Circular Quay is so consistently terrible at getting any burger correct that I just can't not post a review. I go to Hungry Jack's most days after work and would usually order a baconator bacon deluxe meal but have been forced to choose another burger simply because they never once got the ingredients on the burger correct, I'd get the wrong amount of patties, no cheese, only 1 piece of bacon etc etc. I even once had, I kid you not, the butt of the lettuce AND the green top from a tomato on the same burger, and they were the only two pieces of vegetable on the burger so it wasnt like I could just separate them from the rest of the burger and still have some veggies. Having moved on to whoppers, I admittedly had my first whopper be totally fine, no missing ingredients or anything, but from there on it was back to the same old book of tricks. I've never actually brought this up in person at the restaurant simply because I usually order my meal, get on the train home and then start eating my meal, but as I sat down in Hyde Park to eat my burger tonight I was again disappointed with the lack of cheese and a patty on my double whopper so I just said to myself, screw it, I'm going to have a rant. The most annoying bit about this is I'm still going to keep buying from there because the burgers taste so f** great. So well done Hungry Jack's, I applaud you in your successful efforts to serve terrible burgers but still somehow manage to retain your customer base. Oh and just watch me get absolutely no reply to this review, not that I'm particularly looking for one, I'm just here to say my piece. Christ alive that Circular Quay crew needs their heads...
Read moreIf you’re walking through Circular Quay and craving something fast, filling, and familiar, Hungry Jack’s will definitely do the trick. The location is hard to beat — right near the ferries and the train station, which makes it super convenient whether you’re a tourist or just grabbing a bite before heading home.
On the positive side, the Whopper is still a classic — flame-grilled, decent size, and usually hot when you get it fresh. They also have good breakfast options like the bacon and egg muffin, and surprisingly decent barista coffee from Jack’s Café. Plus, they open early and stay open late, which is perfect if you’re stuck in the city after hours.
But… the other side of the story isn’t so tasty.
Service can be very hit or miss. During busy times (which is almost always in Circular Quay), it can feel chaotic, slow, and a little frustrating. You might wait 10+ minutes for a simple meal, and still end up with cold chips or a burger that looks like it was made during an earthquake. Cleanliness? Sometimes okay, sometimes not — especially during rushes.
The seating area can also feel cramped and not very well-maintained, especially if you’re expecting to sit down and chill for a bit. It’s more of a “grab it and go” type of place.

⭐ Final Thoughts:
Half good, half forgettable. If you’re hungry and need something fast, it’ll satisfy the craving. But if you’re looking for good service or something memorable, you may want to walk an extra...

I then heard the younger women say I didn’t have a second drink on my order which I did and showed to the manager after she said that. In fact I had 3 drinks, two frozen Cokes and one water with the meal included.
This is not how I would like to be treated or anyone else on a night out in the city and someone should give her advice about projecting their attitude onto other people.
It’s fast food, it’s simple, understand the situation and read the room. The other workers and the food were lovely, especially the manager, they resolved the situation and apologised prefusely, that’s a team positive and customer positive attitude.
As a manager myself, it’s not easy to run a team in peak trade but having someone employed that has a high school level of attitude towards their customers needs to get a grip....
