To the Manager,

I am writing to formally complain about the service my elderly mother and I received at your establishment between 9:30 and 10:00 AM on August 11th.

Upon our arrival, a tall dark-skinned waiter informed us that all tables were booked. When I inquired whether we needed a reservation or if we could be seated as a walk-in, I observed a couple being seated by an Asian waiter. The tall dark-skinned waiter indicated that the restaurant was fully booked but told us to call back when a table became available.

I asked if you intended for us to leave, but the waiter did not respond. He merely suggested that we wait outside, which would have been a more appropriate suggestion. While we were conversing, I noticed several customers leaving, and an available table became free. I asked the waiter if we could be seated at the newly available table, and he reluctantly accommodated us.

During this time, I overheard the waiter making disparaging comments about us. Feeling uncomfortable, we decided to leave. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the waiter’s attitude, to which he responded by criticizing my attitude as well.

Given that my mother frequently visits your café for coffee, and she wanted to try breakfast for the first time, I am particularly disappointed by this experience. I believe that your staff could benefit from additional training in customer service to prevent similar issues in the future.

Gorgeous location / TERRIBLE SEVICE Went there this morning to have breakfast after enjoying a really nice long walk. Went in & spoke to a young lady with very long black hair who was quite dry, didn’t smile and not very accommodating. That should’ve been my cue to leave, but it was such a gorgeous location that we thought we would try it out. We sat for about 15 minutes, after our menus were given to us with absolutely zero eye contact. I tried waving them down twice, but they were so busy looking down at their phones. I approached the counter, the lovely young man who I believe was the barista, acknowledged me and said they’ll be with you in a minute . Went back to the table, waited another 4 minutes before we decided that it really just wasn’t good enough. There was 3 staff working, 2 cooks and only 2 customers who already had their food prior to us entering.

I guess business must be really great that the staff don’t seem to care whether or not they give basic hospitality service. If they can’t smile, then they shouldn’t be in the business.

We ended up going to another gorgeous cafe. We were seated within 30 seconds of entering. Our meals were on our table within 10 minutes of us being seated.
