Waterbird Refuge — Attraction in Sydney

Calm and tranquil spot in the middle of the city. Best place to park the car for access is on Parklands Cct car park near Bicycle NSW headquarters. Dawn or dusk are the best times to see the waterbirds. Nearby attractions all within a few hundred metres walks are the boardwalks over the Badu mangroves (south), shipwrecks lookout (north), Billabong creek (east). Overrated. Difficult to find from the road due to no signage. Difficult to see the birds as main section boarded up. My bub could not see much as all the birds were too far in the distance. Peaceful spot and might be ok if you are just cycling past but don’t not worth going out of your way to see. Also there’s not a lot of shade so don’t visit...

I loved going here and I spent a couple of hours enjoying taking photos of all the beautiful birds here. There are so many vantage points to see the birds from and there is a hut located close by for the hot days. Well worth a visit if you like bird watching.
