Read moreKFC: Finger Lickin'... Rat-Infested?
Where do I even begin with this sorry excuse for a fast-food joint? Let's start with the ambiance—or lack thereof. Walking into this KFC is like stepping into a time warp straight back to the '80s, and not in a nostalgic way. The decor is as tired and worn out as the grease-stained napkins littering the tables, and don't even get me started on the sticky floors.
But hey, I'm willing to overlook a lackluster interior if the food is halfway decent, right? Wrong. The chicken here is about as dry as the Sahara Desert and twice as flavorless. It's like they took a perfectly good piece of poultry, dunked it in a vat of grease, and then left it to languish under a heat lamp for hours on end. And don't even get me started on the sides—soggy fries and wilted coleslaw that taste like they've been sitting out since the Nixon administration.
But the pièce de résistance of this culinary nightmare? The rat. Yes, you read that right. As I was attempting to choke down my sorry excuse for a meal, I was accosted by a furry little critter scurrying across the floor like it owned the place. Needless to say, that was the straw that broke the camel's back—or in this case, the rat that broke my appetite.
To add insult to injury, when I brought this egregious health code violation to the attention of the staff, they simply shrugged and muttered something about "pest control problems." As if that's supposed to make me feel better about the fact that I just paid good money to be harassed by a rodent while attempting to enjoy my dinner.
In conclusion, save yourself the stomachache and steer clear of this rat-infested cesspool masquerading as a fast-food restaurant. Unless, of course, you enjoy playing a game of Russian roulette with your gastrointestinal tract. In which case,...
Read moreI recently had one of the worst fast food experiences of my life at KFC Artarmon, and unfortunately, the root of the issue was the store manager, Riley. I was served a meal that appeared to have a cockroach on the chicken — something so shocking and disgusting that I initially thought I was seeing things. But no — it was there, plain as day.
Naturally, I brought it to the attention of the staff and asked to speak with the manager. That’s when Riley came over, and honestly, his reaction made the situation so much worse.
Rather than showing any kind of concern, ownership, or urgency, Riley was completely dismissive and uninterested. He barely looked at the food I was showing him, didn’t apologize, didn’t ask if I was okay, and offered no refund, replacement, or resolution. His tone was indifferent, and it felt like he couldn’t care less that a customer had just been served something that poses a serious health risk.
I’ve worked in customer-facing roles before, and I understand that mistakes happen — but how a manager handles a complaint is what makes or breaks a business. Riley handled it in the worst way possible: with zero accountability and zero care. If this is how he responds to a serious hygiene issue, I’m extremely concerned about what else is being ignored at this store.
This isn’t just about bad food — it’s about bad leadership. The staff seem disorganized and unmotivated, which now makes perfect sense seeing how disengaged their manager is. KFC is a global brand, and experiences like this reflect very poorly on it.
Unless this store is brought up to standard and Riley is either retrained or replaced, I won’t be back. I strongly advise others to think twice about eating here — if the manager doesn’t care about food safety, why should customers trust what’s coming out of...
