Luxe Bar — Restaurant in Sydney

Work for a well known high profile specialty coffee company and was looking for any familiar brand in the shopping center to drink... Someone told me Luxe was good. Although the barista was good and executed a good coffee right after my first sip I noticed the brew had this charcoal burned taste of cheap commercial coffee... While I was waiting I overheard him downtalking the other coffee across the hall, then after my dissapointing tasting experience I asked what roaster they used at Luxe and the guy on the machine proudly named one of the most unpopular roasters within the specialty coffee industry. It is not a secret between professionals about their cheap green beans overroasted to hide their market-price origins... The brand in mention is HUMOR MATERIAL for us and many other coffee companies. He is a great espresso machine operator but definitely not a real Barista... My curiosity took me to this other place across the hall and to my surprise they brew a up an coming young brand of exceptional quality. I threw my coffee in the bin and order a new one at this other place. As expected it was fantastic... I told my friend where the better coffee is and why. One of our outlets would do great there since it seems that people only go for what others tells them to eat or drink and not because they actually know whats of premium quality. After staying at the local accommodation, I went out and visited the local Westfield a few minutes away on foot.

I wanted a classy and unique experience of a cafe to have coffee and breakfast. This place is located on the 5th level at a Foodcourt?? A food court... right.. Normally I stay away from these sorts of places only because they're usually nasty and in a food court.

To my surprise, no they weren't that bad. The only criticism I have is that, they give you an electronic buzzer to buzz you when your food was ready.

The coffies and croissant I ordered did not buzz my buzzer and instead heard staff yelling over the crowd of patrons. I ordered other food which did buzz...

I think they need to fix this and allow any one who gets a buzzer to pick up their food based on what they ordered. Instead of some idiot shouting over noise???

The alternative is table service especially at the moderate pricing you pay...

I work in the facility and I come here often some staff are super nice but I believe today will be my last day. Every time when I come I order “warm long black” depending on the staff who works I get warm or hot Long black. Today I ordered the same thing and I always pay the full price. She gave me hot coffee if I have a long break I don't mind but I have 15 min to drink this coffee so I want to get what I ordered. I asked her if I could get warm, not hot She took the takeaway cup emptied some coffee and added cold water inside instead of giving me a new coffee. Now my coffee tastes like water.
