I WOULD LIKE TO SLAP THAT RUDE OLD LADY ON THE CASHIER!!!!!! Ordered just a pineapple bun takeaway and the old lady on the cashier gave me the dirtiest look as if I asked her to lick my shoe. I just quietly paid and sit near the cashier because i had a long day and just want a nice snacks while waiting for my malatang next door. I wait for around 15 mins , no sign of my order. Went up to the cashier again. The same lady was ringing up a customer that just finished dining, saw me and continue laughing and chatting with him for a good 5-10 minutes, completely ignoring me, no āi wont be longā āsorry just a moment plsā. (Mind you it is not busy at all, she probably ring just another 2-3 table after me so she should still remember me ordering something a while ago especially i seated right in front of her the whole time. I decided to talk to another girl. She has no docket of such order, and ask the old lady about it. The old lady did a quick glance at this girl, with a āhow dare you cut my convoā kinda glare, choose to ignore her question and CONTINUE CHATTING with the same customer. I stand there for a good 10 minutes staring at that old lady waiting for her to actually resolve this. While that poor girl rummaging through the docket papers trying to figure out whats going on. She finishes her convo, say bye to the customer, and JUST START TO PREP MY ORDER WHICH LITERALLY TOASTED SUGARY BUN WITH A SLAB OF BUTTER!!!, and mumble something in her language. Im way pissed at that point and just turn around and sat back at the table. It was literally a less than 5 minutes order. Another younger girl bring it out to me with no sorry (which I kinda understand since she might not know that iāve been waiting much more than necessary because that old lady literally forgot my order). No apologies no manner no customer service. Im also working in hospitality and retail industry, mistakes happens and its okay but im NOT ASKING FOR TOO MUCH! just not getting a stinky eye for ordering something that IS ON your menu, given an honest apology when mistake is made, being served when I clearly standing around the cashier trying to figure out why a piece of toasted bun would take 27 minutes to come out.
I paid at 8:18 and got the bun at 8.45 Honestly, take that useless shitty lady off the front of house or close your place if u cant afford to lose such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTimes eaten from this place: 5 Food: 4/5 Good portions. Congee - the best. Always a go-to when I feel unwell and it hits the spot. Makes me think of home. Pineapple bun with butter - good-sized pineapple bun, cut horizontally and toasted, with a piece of butter placed in the middle. The hunk of butter was too much, would have preferred if it were served on the side instead. No big deal as I just removed it. One of the better bolobao I've had š Crispy noodle with vegetable (I requested beef too) - received a generous portion of vegetables and beef! Very pleased. Unfortunately the flavouring was too salty, it could have easily been halved. Pork chop fried rice - despite being a signature dish, it was super mediocre. Meat was too salty, rice was too bland, the tomato-based sauce was meh Price: 4/5 EFTPOS/credit card 1.5% surcharge Flicking through the menu, entrees and main course meals seemed a bit pricey. Service: 4/5 Appreciated the menu being in both Chinese and English. For dine-in, my waiter was flexible using English, while I did overhear Cantonese and Chinese being spoken with other customers. Unfortunately, she did seem to forget to enter my order or something, as I waited 10 minutes before I was asked to reconfirm my order. Aside from that, staff were nice and attentive. Atmosphere: 5/5 Lively and bustling. One time during dine-in the main floor was playing calming piano music while the kitchen was blasting Chinese hardstyle 𤣠good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall: 5/7 A much needed improvement over the previous HK restaurant in terms of staff friendliness. The food is just ok, and quite homely. Everything comes in quite a large portion and is reasonably priced. Also free soup! (Edit, dinner only?)
Rice with prawn and scrambled egg: 5/7 Ratio of egg to rice was a bit off, but there were lots of prawns and all tasted good.
Garlic fried pork: 4/7 Flavours are good but a bit over fried.
Visit 2 update: pepper sauce chicken baked rice: 5/7 Very solid meal with a good ratio of everything. Chicken is cooked super tender and pepper packs a punch.
Wonton soup: 4/7 These were just ok. The soup is good but probably not made from scratch and wontons just taste ok. Nothing particularly good or bad about it.
Visit 3,
Baked rice pork chop: 4/7 Comes baked and with fried rice. āFried riceā is generous, is basically Normal rice, DO NOT pay extra. Portuguese sauce curry flavour was a bit strange, would get different one in future.
Beef tripe clay pot: 5/7 A big version of the starter dish. No normal meat, all offal, including maybe lung? Not for me, would order brisket / tendon / tripe variant next time. Tendon was very tender.
Sampan congee: 5/7 Good but nothing particularly special about it, but itās congee⦠Huge volume of...
