Lantern Club — Restaurant in Sydney

Attended a Baby Shower luncheon on Saturday and the venue space was extremely warm and inviting. Great decor and atmosphere. The expectant mother did a phenomenal job on the decorations for her event and the guests were extremely impressed. What was meant to be a joyous and stress-free occasion, turned out to be quite a terrible dining experience. Understandably during the covid restrictions, many pleasures were unable to be experienced to their fullest, however, food should not have been one of them. Each guest received a plate with what was suppose to be hot and cold canapes. The slice of nori roll was so dry that the seaweed encasing the rice cracked into pieces when bitten. Seemed like it had been prepared hours before and left uncovered. The chicken skewer was cold and dry, the felafel was hard and dry...virtually inedible. This was not just my experience however, other guests at our table of 10 had the same complaints. I raised this issue with the sister of the mother-to-be and she felt so embarrassed, and went to see the manager to complain. Covid Pandemic or not, in-house caterers or sub-contractors...the freshness and quality of the food should not have been compromised...NO EXECUSES...!!! The embarrassed mother-to-be could not appoligise enough for the poor quality of food. If this is any indication of the quality of food served at this club...then myself and many others who attended as guests, will not be returning, nor consider this venue for any of our upcoming functions. I do hope the mother-to-be seeks some kind of reimbursements from the club for the poor food experience, and the...

It's honesty just okay. The food is mediocre at best. I've gone to two of their customer feedback sessions, yet the majority of the people in those sessions have complained about the food, yet it remains disappointing. They've also voiced wanting more options like a daily roast. Again, our voices have been unheard. This is probably because they have sold the restaurant part of this place to another company, and these guys are really butchering the food. Food is a huge factor for any place, and if it isn't good the venue begins to lose money.

The new features and additions they have added are a nice touch. They have several new and old slot machines, which is why it got an additional star. I like that they have various choices of machines that you can play. The old machines are nostalgic and fun to play!

One complaint I have is that they don't offer free drinks like other places do. It's a move up a level on your card to be eligible for perks, such as free drinks, etc. I understand the concept, but even at silver and gold, there are no drinks. What does someone have to do at this establishment to get a cup of soft drink? Perhaps spend thousands of dollars?

When I go here, I spend hundreds of dollars at a time. The least they could do is offer free refreshments. Water, however, is free. The drinks used to be $1 for any soft drink, coffee, and tea, and now that has gone up, too.

Overall, it's an okay establishment it does have some work to do to be great.

Customer service is friendly...

We held an engagement party turned secret wedding at the Lantern club, Roselands, and even the rain didn't dampen the wonderful night, made possible by Brig and the team.

The venue is a hidden gem, and is just gorgeous lit up at night. The sandstone feature wall is stunning, and I was so pleased with how it all looked! The L shaped outdoor space and grass area ensured the event was relaxed and people could move freely. The team did a great job setting up the venue space for us, and helped us immensely with décor!

The team at the Lantern club were so kind, flexible and generous with their time! They were beyond brilliant. I am still receiving comments about their friendliness and the food... 5 star!! It was amazing! We chose a range of canapes and pizzas for the event, and I could not be happier with the food!

Brig, the event coordinator was unbelievable! Supportive, full of great ideas and suggestions and flexible with out budget. We wouldn't have wanted anyone else to help us ensure the wedding was a big surprise for our friends and family.

I couldn't recommend the club enough...
