A Longtime Favorite That’s Lost Its Touch

I've been a loyal customer of this bakery for years, always leaving with a variety of delicious items and always! recommending it to friends. As someone from Europe, I used to consider this place a little pocket of France far from home – the pastries, breads, and sandwiches were truly authentic and delicious.

Unfortunately, on my recent visit, I noticed a significant drop in quality. Everything I purchased felt dry, and the freshness that once made this bakery stand out just wasn’t there anymore. To make matters worse, the customer service has really taken a hit. The staff seemed unhappy and I even witnessed some rudeness towards other customers. It’s disappointing to see such behavior in a business.

It's a shame to "lose a good friend," as this place was once a gem. Sadly, I won’t be going back. I really hope they can turn things around, but for now, it’s not the same bakery I used to...

This tiny little Bakery in Surry Hills is like those you find around Paris. A hole in the wall type place and out eyes lit up looking at the overflowing with beautiful pastries. You know it’s legit when you hear the staff and their strong French accents.

Opened by Christian Bonne and Kareen Ferrali. Bonne is a graduate from Ecole Française de Boulangerie & Pâtisserie d'Aurillac (a French baking school), they’ve been running this spot for a few years now.

They use high quality ingredients to make amazing French pastries and breads from pear tarts to Madeleine’s, almond croissants and French baguettes. A popular choice is the chouquette, a tiny balls of pastry covered in salt crystals. They also have some sandwiches and quiche if you’re after some more...

Mentioning their tarts makes me want to cry. Tears of joy. Had no expectations when we discovered this unassuming place, but it was here that i put an end to my ailing search for the “correct” tart.

Think: a light custard piped into a crisp buttery base topped with fresh strawberries (and powdered sugar if i must). The Vanilla Eclair was fine, caramel Mille-feuille delish and the tarts...ohhh, just delightfully decadent... and did i mention their amazing baguettes? A friend bought a baguette for eating at home but it was nearly gone by the time we got to the house.

Haven’t tried their coffee but they certainly shine in their sweets. Little french bakery made lovelier by its staff. An absolute gem. Is there anyone who walks away...

I usually don't post reviews but it's really hard to stand by and let what was once an excellent bakery go down the tubes. I bought two croissants just now, i must have been staring off into space because she was taking her time. Than I realised it was because she had been searching for the two smallest croissants possible. When they first started they were genrous sizes and I could melt and a whole slice of cheese on it compared to what it is now. It left me feeling terribly ripped off and questioning why a staff member would do this, it's the tiniest detail but if several customers walk away feeling this way there won't be a bakery left.
