The first time that I came here was for my friend's birthday, the pizzas were amazing, the waiters really helped to accommodate our wishes and also our BYO requests. This really made me want to come back, so I ended up returning for dinner with one friend a few weeks later. For some odd reason, the chef who greeted us when we walked in seemed to have a really big problem with us not having a booking, even though there was at least half of the tables empty. As the waitress was leading us towards a table, he interrupted with, "Do you have a booking?" We said no and he seemed really miffed, sighing and tutting and just making it quite awkward for us when the waitress continued to sit us down. We ordered a pizza and pasta to share between two, and when the pizza came, the bottom was so incredibly burnt that we had to rip pieces off because they were so blackened. The centre of the pizza was sloppy, soggy and pretty disgusting. I'm wondering if it had a connection with us not making a booking, but I really didn't think that was a problem seeing as the restaurant was not full? The pasta was pretty good but I couldn't forgive the quality of the pizza especially considering the price. It really made me so disappointed because the first time I went it was really a great experience, but the second time has meant I haven't returned since. I would recommend Millennium Pizza instead for when you're...

Food - 5/5 - I have been living in Sydney for 9 years and this by far is the best Fettucine Boscialoa I have eaten. It is so creamy and thick! I have been hunting this type of Bosciala down for years and finally found it! We live in Bondi where there are restaurants galore, but honestly the Italian food doesn't stack up. The food at Mangia E Bevi is simply outstanding! We also had hawiian and prosciutto pizzas where great as well. This will now be a regular for us, and a great alternative to typical Bondi. I have already recommended it to a few of my friends.

The only reason it gets 4 stars overall instead of 5, the waitresses although not rude in anyway sat us at a table without offering us a drink and just walked away. We then had to ask them to come back over to get a beer, a wine, and water. With the water I know the 2 seater tables are small, but if they had left a bottle for us, or asked us if we wanted more water/drinks during the course of the meal that would have helped alot because at times we needed water but felt it was a bit of a hassle to keep asking for a refill (water glasses are small). Anyway just a thought, apart from this the food was...

Head waiter was very good until the mains. Garlic and chilli prawns as entre special excellent Very disappointed with mains - veal scallopini a staple Italian dish was appalling, it was swimming in liquid like a soup and was very very salty. The Crab linguine looked great but unfortunately had no taste. When we raised our concerns to the head waiter he listened and apologised. When it came to paying the bill no discount but charged us full freight. I wouldn’t normally write bad reviews but these wasnt $25 dollar mains, they were $50 per main. I was expecting a discount on the mains or at least for them to say don’t pay for the 2 glasses of wine. Don’t go to this place ….unless you only eat entree’s.

We’ve been going to Mangia Bevi on New South Head Rd, Rose Bay for years — at least three times a week! They’ve been part of the community for over 10 years, and it’s easy to see why. The food is always fresh, delicious, and perfect for those nights when you don’t have time to cook. It’s run by a beautiful Lebanese family, and Natalie, the manager, always greets us with a big smile and goes above and beyond to impress. Their pizzas are the best, their pasta is amazing, and you absolutely have to try their incredible Dubai pizza for dessert — it’s unforgettable! Highly recommend this gem to anyone who loves great food and friendly service. 💗

Magnia e Bevi in Rose Bay is a fantastic Italian spot run by brothers John and Peter, who bring over 30 years of experience. The wood-fired pizza was excellent – light, flavourful dough with fresh toppings – and the pasta was full of rich flavour with great texture. Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. Great value for the quality – highly recommended, and we’ll be back!
