Just arrived at Sonoma Bakery with my California girl no-need-to-be-complex-but-is coffee order (for 1 coffee lol) and not only did Jeruse (Julian) say my order back with greater ease than I did, but he remembered my name from 2 days before! WhAt?! Always stellar customer service here. In fact, I was simply checking out the cafe one day (and didn’t order), this tall friendly guy gave such great customer service despite the fact that I didn’t order— that’s the reason I returned. Everyone is so friendly!! It feels personalized. I’ll certainly return and bring friends once lockdown ends. Love this place!! Xx

I stumbled across this bakery while exploring Rose Bay. The bakery had a very dark exterior which intrigued me so I decided to go in and check out the food :) Got the croissant with pepesaya cultured butter but couldn't really taste the difference but I'm defs not a croissant connosieur by any means lol We also checked out the limited autumn menu and got the hashbrowns with pesto sauce and the flavours were immaculate. The chai latte was great too - the taste wasn't too overpowering and had a healthy sprinkle of cinnamon on the top. Would recommend.

Second off the mark is a good place to be. Sonoma didn't lead the sourdough revolution in Sydney, but it started not long after the beachhead was established. The bread now sits above average, without reaching the dizzying crust quality of iggys or baker bleu or the restaurants like kindred, paci, ester or poly. The pictured ciabiatta was a disappointment. The service was great, suggesting it toasted. Thank goodness, as the untoasted centre had all the charm of 1 man club. The orange cake faired better, but still compromised on butter, which is essential. Great service and a good place to sit.

A wonderful brekky this morning @Sonoma, thanks to the friendly, accommodating staff and manager Wassim. I am gluten intolerant and allergic to chickpeas and tomatoes. After the order was served and they realised, Wassim had my entire breakfast remade, and was so thoughtful and nothing was too hard, all with a smile. 😁 It was delicious as was my coffee. I will definitely return for their sizzling brekky, tailored to me again.

1st timer, the green hair barista taking 20 minutes for a cup of takeaway latte from order to ready, it wasn't even busy, he keep doing the shot, probably 5 or 6 cup coffee waiting the milk done, and my coffee was half full when handed, I ask if this is how much they normally served the coffee, the answer was, "I can top up more if you like", coffee wasn't even hot enough, at least he got the milk right.

What a stunning place, can't believe I haven't been here before. They're open from 5 AM and welcome you in with a big smile, and a crew of at least dozen people in there so service is fast. And has been for the past 5 times I've visited. The pastry is reasonably priced and tastes amazing, can say the same about their coffee.
