A place not friendly to foreigners!
They asked for hardcopy id, otherwise we are not allowed to go in. We travelled from other country. We have photos of ID but not admitted here. We didn't bring hardcopy ID (if lost, it will have big trouble) , and it didn't said HARDCOPY ID is essential in ANY PLACE ON THE WEB!!! Nor any reminder in the email!
Today is train strike, the guard asks us to go home to bring hardcopy ID, which will cost 100 AUD. And said not allowed to refund the tickets.
I understand the guard may be doing his job. Maybe.? He said if we don't carry ID with us 24/7, we are breaking the law. For real??
It is ridiculous! It Really Ruined our Valentine's Day!
AND!!! if that rule is really important, why not letting people know clearly?! Why not presenting them clearly on your web or through email? I have found many similar cases as ours online. Foreigners like us who were just in Sydney for 2 weeks don't know about this rule! This is very unfriendly to foreign travelers and students! Due to the high price of uber, we didn't see the gig finally. We strongly ask for a refund!
Btw, we are quite old, already...
Β Β Β Read moreI guess much of these issues come down to the individual event organisers who hire the venue but the bar lines at the upstairs bar were the worst I have ever experienced. Outdoor festivals with 10,000 people have faster moving lines β not joking. And then once you got to the bar there was about six early 20 girls who were too cool for school β no smiling faces here folks. And then they would serve people who hadnβt been waiting in line long eugh. Downstairs bar, which I think was a pop up done by the event organisers worked great. Upstairs permanent bar was horrible. Also while waiting in the upstairs bar line we were all literally vibrating from the music being SO loud. I can only guess whoever had control over that was drunk because no sober person would have let that happen. Also there were police INSIDE the building just standing there watching people. So strange... like even people doing nothing wrong felt awkward because two police would randomly stand around the dance floor just...

General admission tickets just $55! Could have charged much more for a quality concert that ran for 4+ hours without breaks. This was the last concert of this tour.
People flew up from Melbourne, drove from Toowoomba, choppered in from the Southern Tablelands, bussed in from the Hunter.
Many different accents, huge range of ages (well even Marcia Hines is 69 and the group I was with had to look it up).
Great intimate venue, staff excellent, lots(!) of very evident security who were nevertheless...
