I visited your café on Wednesday, 22nd October, at around midday, and to say my experience was disappointing would be an understatement. This was my first time here, and when I politely inquired about ordering a breakfast item, I was met with an unnecessarily rude response. Apparently, the kitchen was closed and you don’t offer all-day breakfast—something I was supposed to magically know beforehand, it seems. Excuse me, but a little courtesy doesn’t cost much. The waiter, a young girl who is likely a student from the university, displayed behaviour so shockingly unprofessional that I’m genuinely appalled. Is this the kind of attitude this establishment condones?
What was even more infuriating was the way my request to speak with the manager was brushed off. Instead of addressing my concerns, I felt like an inconvenience that they couldn’t wait to get rid of. This complete disregard for basic customer service is absolutely unacceptable.
After speaking with other students, it appears my experience is far from unique—this café is known for its consistently poor service. It’s a real shame, given how pleasant the space itself is. If you’re going to rely on such a nice atmosphere, it might be worth investing in staff that actually understand how to treat paying customers with an...
Read moreCourtyard Restaurant & Bar is one of the most popular spots on the University of Sydney campus — a perfect place to relax, meet friends, or enjoy a casual drink after class. The atmosphere is lively and bright, with both indoor seating under a skylight and a spacious outdoor courtyard surrounded by greenery. It’s especially lovely on sunny afternoons when students gather to chat, study, or unwind.
The menu offers a good variety of affordable meals, coffee, and drinks. During Happy Hour (Monday to Friday, 5 pm – close), they serve $10 wings, mezze platters, and discounted drinks — a great deal for students. The bar also often hosts themed events, live music, and campus festivals, making it a fun social hub for the university community.
What makes Courtyard special is its atmosphere — it feels open, friendly, and welcoming to everyone. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, sharing cocktails with friends, or just sitting outside with a cold drink under the pink Vodka Cruiser umbrellas, it’s a great spot to enjoy campus life.
Overall, Courtyard Restaurant & Bar blends great food, good prices, and a relaxed social vibe right in the heart of USYD. Definitely one of the best hangout...
Read moreOrdered pasta and was given stir fry noodles with meatballs in a bowl of meat fat, and I’m not a chef but if you cannot seperate noodles and pasta you should not be operating a food business. if I could give this place 0 stars I would. Coffee is bad, pizza was trash (refer image of the end of tomato that was slapped on, the sauce tasted like it was from a test tube). The only consumable thing was the lemonade. I’m not a food critic but this was so awful that if it was my last day on earth and this was my last meal, I would cut the day short to save any more pain. I didn’t eat it and there’s $50 and 3 bites of my sanity that I will never get back. I don’t write reviews often but seriously save yourself the mental anguish and just to McDonald’s or starve, it’s...
