I generally have ok experiences here, but unfortunately at 2pm today I had a poor experience. I ordered a mango smoothie and when a mango smoothie arrived I took it and left, I was watching the counter and always try to make the lives of the staff as easy as possible by not being one of those people that the staff have to call over and over again. It is rare that someone else orders a mango smoothie. Anyway it turns out that I got the wrong one but instead of the staff member just making one and giving it to the other person they decided to berate me with ‘mate!, mate!, mate!’ ‘That is not your drink’ ‘I did not call your name’ ‘you just need to take those things out of your ears from time to time’ - I was very apologetic and on the verge of tears yet he kept repeating the last two points and telling me that I need to pay again because ‘the onus is on the other customer… you need to buy another drink’ the other customer was equally shocked at his behaviour and attitude. There wasn’t even any need to make an additional drink anyway and even if there was the cafe would still make plenty of profit regardless. I just felt overwhelmed and like he had taken all his anger out on me for no reason. It’s disappointing because I generally have gone experiences at this cafe and the staff are usually nice, but today has changed my view of this place. Read moreWhile I’ve had good interactions with the Fisher library cafe, there’s been a great amount of time that I’ve left the place feeling worse than before. Most of the staff aren’t patient or happy to help you but expect you to be patient with them and still be a happy and considerate customer. I tried their chocolate chip cupcakes last week and it was amazing came back today and it’s stale and it’s $5 dollars. Such customer experiences really ruin the beginning of the day. Read moreThe worst cafe on campus. Customer service is dead bordering on hostile, the staff is flippant and dismissive of you, the coffee is mid, and the food is stale. I asked for a banana bread, and asked if they could toast it (as any cafe facility would be expected to have a toaster for the range of sandwiches and croissants they have) and they just said go toast it at Fisher Library yourself. Huh???? Then proceeded to hand me the coldest, most tasteless brick of banana bread I’ve ever had. Scam. And this isn’t even my first experience here that’s been like this.
