Took my elderly mum here this afternoon after her cardiologist appointment. We both ordered the beef lasagne. When my lasagne arrived I noticed it had a watery sauce around it, whereas, my mother's lasagne didn't. There was also a corner of my lasagne that was rock hard. This was because the meal was reheated in the microwave.. for too long.. first of all, a microwave reheat is not fresh. and neither is the rock hard corner of a lasagne. I was too tired and hungry to wait for another meal to be made, let alone make a scene with mum around. But at the end I had enough and took the plate with the uneaten corner to the counter and showed it to the waitress and asked her to take it to the chef - pointing out the hardness by tapping it with my knife. I sat back down and waited until mum finished her meal. During that time, not one staff member came to my table to apologise or offer any kind of compensation. I was just ignored. so I called the waitress back to ask her what chef said. She told me I would get a $2 discount off the price of the meal.
Really???
I think it's very bad service to ignore a customer and not even approach me to apologise for the over reheated microwave lasagne.
When I went to pay, I discussed this with the manager. I asked if the owner was here, and I was told no, but I was now dealing with the manager at the till. I told her that a $2 discount is unacceptable and when she asked me what I thought I should get, I told her half price. ( I should have actually said free) - She scoffed at that and said no. So why did she ask me what I thought was fair, if she was not moving on the discount given for the meal that was not fresh and over reheated.
I told her I was discussing this with her before I left to give them a chance to rectify things. As she was not interested I said, ok, I will do a google review - which basically is there for the internet public to see.
I told her if Chef Gordon Ramsay was here he would throw it in the bin - being served a meal not fresh - but reheated in a microwave with a watery pool of sauce around it. Why was it watery? melted ice crystals? The manager did not even feel embarrassed about this.
The previous week I ate there on my own and ordered a drink called "Egyptian Ice - just like a liquid Turkish delight" . It was nothing of that flavour. In fact it just tasted like a cold tea. Not even sweet.
I was willing to give this place a second chance, but today they blew it. I think Gordon Ramsay needs...
Read moreI met with a client in this café today. I arrived first and waited to be seated as per the sign they have presented at the counter. Literally less than a meter away from where I waited, a middle-aged-to-older woman, who I presumed is either the manager or the owner (based off her entitled attitude), glanced at me and gave me a half-smile before returning her attention to a conversation she was having with another staff member. I waited for a few minutes before politely interrupting their discussion to ask if I could sit down, which prompted another employee to direct me to a table and provide menus. The service from that point was friendly and quick, and the coffee was lovely. However, I was very disappointed with the completely unnecessary huff and puff made by the same woman I was 'greeted' by when I entered the café, during the process of payment. Due to company policy, we are unable to purchase items for clients or likewise have clients buy items for us, so naturally I requested that we split the bill. I had only ordered a coffee, and my client had only ordered a drink as well, so I personally could not see any reason to deny this request, though the woman made a point of addressing how it had inconvenienced her, and she was only allowing us to split the bill because "it wasn't busy". For the record, I have previously worked in hospitality for over six years, so I understand how splitting bills can be annoying, but those comments and that attitude was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery rude and inconsiderate lady that was serving us. After we got our food, we told her if we could have sauce on the eggs Benedict as there was barely anything there resulting in the food tasting dry. We showed her the plate and made it clear about our intention as we were regular customers who order the same dish and know what it usually looks like. When we paid they charged us for extra sauce, I did not care about getting a refund for it but i wanted to make clear about the situation to avoid it for next time, however the lady was being so rude and aggressive about it and even walked off mid conversation, she tried to embarrass me infront of customers when both me and my daughter were talking to her in a calm tone. no $3.50 refund Is worth getting treated like trash. Moral of the story if your having a bad day don't take it out on your customers will never be back here.
It was not about the $3.50...we dined nearly every second week and spend $50+, it was the attitude of your employee and the way she delt with the issue. And you only apologised when my daughter went back to clarify your employees behaviour...as your manger response to my review i don't think you knew how to deal with this matter nor with your response...even you telling my daughter after ur apology, that you know we will never come to ur cafe again and us ruining your business.. honestly this...
