Monkey King Thai - Gladesville — Restaurant in Sydney

My husband and I recently dined at Monkey King Thai in Gladesville and, unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. We arrived at the restaurant at 9:13pm and were promptly informed that the kitchen would be closing soon. We assured the staff that we would place a quick order of just two items, which we did within 2 minutes of being seated.

While the food was served promptly, But the green curry which we ordered was watery and extremely liquidy. The overall dining experience was disappointing due to the service. Around 9:30pm—while we were still in the middle of our meal—a staff member approached our table with a payment terminal and requested that we pay immediately. Despite my husband politely asking for five more minutes as we were actively eating, the server insisted. Feeling rushed and uncomfortable, I eventually left my meal unfinished.

Adding to the discomfort, the restaurant staff were speaking loudly in the kitchen and laughing in a way that made it difficult for us to have a conversation. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and it gave the impression that we were being hurried out despite the restaurant’s stated closing time being 10pm.

We understand that staff may be eager to finish up towards the end of the night, but as paying customers, we expected a more respectful and considerate dining experience. It’s important that guests feel valued, no matter the time they arrive—especially when still within advertised...

It was my fist time in there , I must say the starters Prawn with sweet potatoes, dumplings and crispy pork was amazing. Though the service staff forgot to order our crispy pork .

But the main course was equally disappointing particularly because of service staff , they forgot what I ordered , and got something else . Ordered Thai Green curry with Prawns but got it with chicken , my wife ordered Pineapple fried rice it’s was good but the Squid in it was just the taste less pice of rubber . What we could not eat .

When went to Pay , I was not given 5% cash discount as advertised , had to ask for it .

Looked like floor staff were pre occupied and careless and busy talking to...

Today I have to leave review because of terriblelt bad customer service. we were regular customers and I've been enjoying the food always even though poor customer service. I ordered food via online and I couldn't get 10% discount because of their system problem. when I picked up my food I already requested them extra chilli and lemon on the side but they didn't. Inside take a way box I couldn't find cutlery pack so I asked waitress about cutlery and her acting was extremely rude and disrespect me. totally disappointed about her customer service. also they have to inform that I can't get lunch specials if I order...
