I don’t usually write negative reviews, but this experience was so poor that I feel it needs to be shared.
We were excited to go to Nandos as my parents hadn’t been in an extremely long time. When I arrived with my elderly parents, I stood at the entrance waiting to be seated. The tall, big Islander-looking waitress saw me but chose to ignore me — no hello, no “I’ll be with you in a moment.” I was the only person waiting. After a while, I seated my parents myself and ordered through the QR code, trying to be understanding because I know hospitality can be tough. Still, her lack of acknowledgment and the way she spoke to another customer (rude and dismissive) left a really uncomfortable first impression.
Our food then arrived with multiple issues. My parents’ chicken came with the wrong basting. The restaurant was severely understaffed ( just two people managing both the inside and outside ) and after waiting unsuccessfully for someone to help, we decided to just eat as we were hungry and my parents were tired. Ironically, the waitress showed up later with the correct order, but by then we’d already started.
The real problem was my Perinaise Classic Burger. The bun was stone cold — fridge cold, not just room temperature. I quietly walked it back to the counter to avoid making a scene. They said they’d warm it up, but when it returned, it was somehow even colder and the chicken was dry and rubbery. I tried to eat it but couldn’t — it was just unpleasant.
I took it back again, and this is where things turned really sour. Instead of apologising or trying to help, the kitchen staff insisted the bread is meant to be “room temperature.” I know that’s not true — I’ve had this exact burger at other Nando’s and it’s always been warm and fresh. The tall, big Islander waitress then made the whole situation worse with her attitude — she gave me dirty looks, her body language was openly dismissive, and she made me feel as if I was being difficult for simply wanting food that wasn’t cold.
By the end of the meal, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable, and disappointed. The food made us feel instantly sick afterwards. The food quality was well below Nando’s usual standard, and the service especially from the tall islander waitress — was unprofessional and frankly intimidating. It ended a beautiful day spent with my parents horribly. Nando’s should be ashamed to have staff treating paying customers this way and serving food of this poor quality. This isn’t what you expect from a brand...

Craving a fun, casual family dinner with a touch of spice? Nando's Miranda delivers on all fronts!
Highs: Wallet-Friendly Feast: Nando's offers great value for money. We shared (family of 6)two whole peri-peri chicken, three sides, for under $59 - perfect for feeding hungry tummies without breaking the bank.
Spacious & Vibrant: The restaurant is big and airy, ideal for families with little ones.
Peri-Peri Perfection: The star of the show, of course, is the chicken! We ordered it medium and it was cooked to juicy perfection, with the signature peri-peri sauce offering a delicious blend of heat and flavor.
Top Tip: Download the Nando's app! Ordering ahead saved us precious minutes waiting in line, and the bottomless drink refills are a lifesaver (and thirst-quencher!) for families.
Lows:
Table Turnover: Tables could be cleaned and turned around a bit faster.
Despite colorful décor and the music & atmosphere needed some attention. It didn't have the usual Nandos Portuguese vibe of old.
Quality Control Check: While our barbecue peri-peri chicken was spot on, the lemon and herb option was slightly undercooked. It's worth giving the chicken a quick check before tucking in, just to be sure.
Overall:
Nando's Miranda is a fantastic option for a quick, and affordable family meal. The delicious chicken, spacious setting, and improved service make it a good family option. Just be mindful to give the chicken a quick once-over, and you're in for a fiery feast that the whole family will enjoy!
Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars (rounded down due to the slight undercooked chicken.
Bonus Tip: Download the app or by scanning QR code on your and order ahead for a seamless Nando's experience! Head downstairs to San Churros for a affordable churros fiesta for the family.Catch the lift outside Nando's or take the stairway...
Read moreAbysmal service. Waited for at entrance while staff ignored us completely, restaurant was empty. We asked about dietary options and staff member did not answer and did not try to find out. Staff just told us to sit, and walked away, did not show us to a table or show us how to order. Table was untouchably sticky too.
Ordered a refillable coke, we were given an empty cup, we were expected to fill it ourselves. Food given without cutlery, waited a couple of minutes and tried to get the attention of staff, however the many staff were just chatting and laughing amongst themselves, they did not look our direction, walk past, or check-in the entire time we were there. We were expected to get up and get cutlery.
Truely awful, will never return, staff seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than doing anything for customers. I have dined in many restaurants in my time and in many countries and never had I had such an awful dining experience as this place. We have to start expecting higher standards in Australia, nowhere else would tolerate this level of service, vote with your wallets and please avoid this place!
Especially sad to see because Nando’s was a favourite restaurant of mine growing up, and the food items have become a sad, cheaper version of what...
