The Ooshman Has Had a Facelift! The Manoosh brand you know and love is serving you the same great food, but new name and style! The bright green colouring and little face make it youthful and fun. We loved the makeover and even little Lennox remembered the name and playfully had fun with his ballon!
We’ve had Manoosh before but we’re even more impressed with the food this time. It was seriously good, and whilst it was good the next day (and even later that evening when we wanted more), but it was amazing fresh in store when it was right out of the oven.
We opted for a variety of items off the menu so we could get a good taste of different foods. We began with a few starters; including the kofta which was very moist and flavourful beef. The Lebanese classics like za’atar were so good, paired with a salad and pumpkin falafel, we certainly had a feast.
The kids meal was excellent too, Lennox loved the fried chicken and the fries now hit the top of my favourite fries list! A very very good salt on them. We also had a spicy prawn and chorizo pizza, featuring Smoked chorizo, garlic prawns, char-grilled eggplant & roasted capsicum topped with mozzarella, garlic olive oil, chilli flakes & shallots served with a lemon wedge on a tomato sauce base. We had it on one of their gluten free bases.
The menu is so good and you can order in, for pickup...
Read moreThis is for the waterloo store!! Not sure what’s happened! Mangers changed, owners changed!! I’ve just picked up a pizza!! Hardly had a cheese on it, missing the meat pieces and the veggies were still raw!! It was tasteless! The chips were dry! And cold, this combo was extremely disappointing! They weren’t busy so there’s no excuse! There shouldn’t be an excuse either way. Anywho!! I got pistachio delight!! Ohhh dear that was disgusting, I cut through it and this bird poo like oozed out of it!! The order I got looked nothing like the order I placed! The order I placed had pistachio and chocolate drizzled over it, this one was just dry pastes from the outside and liquid disgusting mess inside! When contacted I was told they’ve changed their menu!!! Mate don’t deceive people and cheat them by having something different online to what you’re actually offering! Look at the fruit, the strawberries! I mean the half of a strawberry, literally half cut up in quarters!! All in all!!! They have really lost their tough, they food is not worth the money you’re paying! I honestly hope that karma gets all those people and restaurants that keep cheating customers! You want to go out every now and then to help the locals! But they don’t deserve it, hopefully they won’t be in business...
Read moreWalking up to this elongated hole in the wall, I was expecting the pizzas churning out of this place to be unfussy, yet wholly assuming. I've wanted to try this spot for so long, the place which takes it's namesake from arguably Australia's signature slice. I mean, all other major chains based in this country have taken the mould of what makes Lebanese pizza unique and adapted it to their business model, labelling it "deep pan" base. So I was pleasantly surprised when the crust was not only pliable and foccacia-like, but also biscuit crisp at the ends and on the underside – a textural quarter circle punch. But the finished, ultra combo has to be the toppings, particularly on the signature vegan pie. A dense layer of vegetable, atop a Zataar base that makes this more unique than any other pizza in town, it is then drizzled lightly with the tahini (a sesame-based sauce) which comprises the cheese component. This is sauce, dough and... well, more sauce, but semantically, absolutely a pizza. But more than that, it's culture, it's food of the people, and at $15-18 a pop, you'd be foolish to not rate/try this. A solid man'oosh is at just about every kebab shop around the country – but there's a reason why it's...
